Facing the Shadow (by Patrick Carnes) - Have you read it?

Last session, my therapist mentioned a sex addiction workbook. I believe it was this one: Facing the Shadow by Patrick Carnes. I did a search here and saw some people mention buying it, but didn't see much about their thoughts on it once they really got into it. Anyone give it a go? Any feedback you'd like to share? I've started reading one of his books, but was curious about what the 'workbook' was like. Thanks in advance for any input you can share!

I listened to the audiobook "Out of the Shadows", which I guess is a precursor to this book. OotS is more about introduction to sex addiction and what it can lead to rather than an emphasis on the recovery part of the journey. I am sure it is pretty helpful. Carnes is known as an expert in sex addiction/recovery research.

OotS was shocking and very informative to me. Wish I would have read it when it came out in 2005!

Yeah, I'm reading In the Shadows of the Net now, which apparently is quite similar to OotS. It's focused on cybersex (which is my problem), although it was published 15 years ago so it is a bit dated at times. Definitely some insightful content though.
