Fake Smile + Lovingkindness

    Sort of mixing up Autosuggestion with a few other things.

    Purge urges always happen when I feel shitty (depressed, angry, stress, worry). So I have been working on cultivating positive feelings. It does seem to help.

    As much as I can through the day, while meditating, whenever I feel a have a serious look on my face:

    • Put a bit of a fake smile. Just lift the corners of my mouth a bit. I can feel it lift my mood
    • At the same time, try to FEEL happy, like the Lovingkindness meditation, picture or remember something uplifting.
    • Visualize myself laying outside in the sun being super happy.
    • I say to myself..."Happy and Healthy"
    When I do this, it is almost impossible to be interested in PMO.

    I am practicing it more and more, so that it is easy to slip into this mental state at will.
    When I feel the beginning of an urge, I immediately switch to this state. It is much easier than trying to fight an urge.... it simply kills it.
