Hey all god bless. I’m going to fast for 40 days. I relapsed watching porn last night and am starting over today. I’d love if some fellow Christians can help hold me accountable as I think it’ll help me through. I’m going to fast from junk food , artificial stimulation ( ie porn/internet, ) and reset the way my brain is wired.Im determined more than ever to overcome the lusts of my flesh and live a happier Christian life. Any encouragement and prayer for strength will be great thanks!

  2. I will be praying for you and cheering you on! Perhaps you can check in here every day over the next 40 to keep us updated on your journey?

Thanks Tao! Yeah I think I’ll write in periodically as a journal entry, good suggestion. Day 1 , today I have no lack of energy as I’ve done a couple short, 3 day water only fasts before. Only while I was working, a coworker was eating Oreos and I had a strong craving, at home it’s easy as I live alone, with empty cupboards and fridge will make it easier. No urges for pmo, per usual, after a day , and usually they start kicking in around day 5 after a relapse. Rest and relaxation the rest of the night with a book and writing

Ugh I stumbled and relapsed porn last night. I feel awful. I broke my diet and with that I convinced myself that I’ll watch porn to reset both counters. What a foolish choice! I read romans 8:13. So true! Time to pick myself up and deny the flesh!

Amen thanks brother! Hope you are doing well. How’s your journey? Can’t wait until I’m freed from this addiction. I feel motivated after reframing my mind to a positive disposition.

  8. I have recovery fatigue. Been on this journey for a while and I’m a little over its all consuming nature. I’m simply going to seek after God and focus all I have on that.

I'm praying for you, malone. Remember that we're forgiven, and that we have the strength of the One who made the universe on our side.

Beatthis, I'm right there with you man. It can be exhausting. But I'm convinced that our struggles and pain seem smaller and less powerful as we see more and more of God's love and grace. As He comes into focus, the old nature diminishes.
