Fear of the flatline stops me from actually trying NoFap and leads to relapse

Honestly, the number 1 thing that's holding me back is fear of the dreaded flatline.... How long will it last? Will I ever come out of it? Some claim it lasts weeks, others it lasts months...

This scares the shit out of me, the anxiety of being a virgin + having zero libido/ sex drive... I know I need to stop focusing on sex so much but its frustrating... I understand the benefits of NoFap outweigh the disadvantage of flatline, but... I fear sexual deprivation.

Who am I without the addiction? it's been with me for half of my life, how do I let go?

I understand these thoughts. Perfectly reasonable and valid.

What you will realise, is that there is a person still there once you strip away your addiction.

Realise you are not defined by your addiction.

The person you was once when you was rapped up in your addiction will be able to express themselves anew once you give it some space and time.

This new person needs time to cultivate their personality too. Imagine what sort of person you are if you spend as much time on being free from your addiction as you did cultivating your addiction?

These things don't develop over night. We need to put some clear distance between us and our addictive personalities.

Before I comment on your issues with flat line we need more info on your situation.

Pleas note I am no guru or nofap master. I have only managed to be nofap strong for 8 days. But I am developing my own strategy and goals.

This is what you need to do as well.

Hey! You can do no-porn first, then go full-on nofap. Flatline is a thing but it's much milder if you're going more slowly.

I've been without porn for 48 days now, and now started the nofap again. It really helps, especially since when you don't fap to porn but to girls you're rewiring to the girls, and relapses are just because of them and not porn:) I think it will help with the flatline too, since dopamine amounts are lower when fapping without porn. It's also helpful because you're not having constant influx of naked pictures coming and fucking up your brain.

You let go by replacing it with something else. As for who you are...o_O

Time of flat line will also pass. Ask yourself about this. If you will get through flatline you will get your reward. Time will pass. If this is hard this is worthy.
