It feels like through rebooting alot of my problems i used to put away come to the surface.

It was so bad that i almost cried out loud during dinner with my mom, stepdad and brother.

I always thought i was comfortable around my brother, but actually i am not, i can not be myself around him, because i feel ashamed of myself.

Yesterday i lied to him, he asked what i did that day, so i answered that i was looking for study, but i didn't do anything because i was depressed. I just felt ashamed of myself for not taking action and not having everything settled in life like him.

    1. Good that you're being confronted with things you used to distract yourself from with PMO. It allows you to confront them.
    2. You're changing your life. It's not going to happen overnight. But it does set you ahead of 99% of people. You should be proud of yourself for making the world better!
    3. Crying can be good. Watch Inside Out the new Pixar movie it's all about that.
    4. Your brother won't have everything settled. No one does.
    5. This is a great TED Talk about shame:

And if you like the first video then this follow up video is also good. Here's a quote from it:

"Shame and guilt are different. Shame is 'I am bad', guilt is 'I did something bad'. Guilt: 'I'm sorry I made a mistake'. Shame: 'I'm sorry I am a mistake'. And here's what you need to know: shame is highly, highly correlated with addiction'.

And here's what you need to know more: guilt, is inversely correlated!"

Well done on 28 days, I just joined today, I hope this helps you but coming out of depression, does it take a while, and i see you have been given that great advice by @SerpentEagleHeart. But you are doing something great your goal is a fantastic acheievment. Think of your depression as a journey, what can you learn from it.. whats it tring to say to you...? Your depression if thought about a different way is the start of the end of it.. If you havent already see a doctor and keep posting, write or speak it out, as that always helps.

Your abstinance will only but help as I am sure you are aware you are to all intents and purposes resisting the suggestive thoughts voices feelings ect... that really takes a strong individual...

  6. How you handle the short-term pain will determine your success in beating your addiction and improving your life. Don't give in to unpleasant occurrences and see them for what they are; temporary.
