    Hi,

Was just wondering if some other people here have ever felt a bit sick and ever had a panic attack during their nofap journy? And if nofap can cause it?

(Been under a lot of stress lately and worked really hard, so I full understand that it may be the cause too). Been told from family members and friends that I need to give myself some more time to relax.

But was thinking that PMO is something that normally can "help" against stress, so can quitting cause panic attack, since the brain and body does not really understand whats going on?

Feel pretty awful today, head is unclear, I am tierd, urges are strong.

Can this be some sort of flatline (already the first week) or...?

    Hi.

Yes I've had bouts of nausea out of the blue during nofap, usually a couple of weeks in. Very odd for me I never get that stuff.

Also the urges can put a lot of stress on you, like a lot! Creating internal tensions, you certainly won't be feeling at ease, thus anxiety and panic attacks. During reboot the world that once felt more certain suddenly is strange and there's no harbour from the storms, i.e. no pmo to ease things or distract one from the cold realities of one's situation. All very unsettling!
But don't worry, that you are feeling this stuff is a good sign, something is changing!

    Thanks for the reply! :)

Yeah, I think a lot of my class-friends at my studies are a part of the reason. Sometimes I get texts from them saying; that there is so much to read, that they are so stressed, etc. (I don't really blame them). But when they send texts like that, while I are trying to stay calm, I get stressed again - and I start to work more then I planned. Like yesterday, I was done working for the day, after what I had planned. But then I got texts from my classmates that there were so much work. Then I got stressed and started to work, even tho I was very tierd.

(Note: I don't blame them, it is up to me to stay calm etc. But when I studied an other place when I could only focus on my own work, I never got stressed. There was no other person telling me how stressed they were. Today, I have a class where almost everyone is stressed. And the affects me).

And there are most likely other reasons too, but I just really felt it yesterday, and this is something that have been going on lately.

    What do you guys think?

Should I tell them that I get really stressed when they send texts like that, and I need them to stop?

You have the right to eliminate any source of stress in your life, first priority is you. Don't feel bad about it.

Absolutely!! Nofap can sure cause panic attacks and so much other stuff. Like literally too much to even list here. But just wanted to say your not alone and I’ve never had issues with anxiety and unable to handle stress before nofap. Depression, yes, but was calm and stuff didn’t bother me before.

Thanks for the support! Will tell them if it keeps happening, ofcourse in a nice way. And will tell them why, so it will be easier to understand. Don't really mind if someone know that I need to have full focus on myself to not get stressed. :)

    Thanks for the answerr! :)

I was a very calm person during final-test periodes before. The times when I have been on Nofap I have some panic-attack during very stressful times, which have made me really scared and people close to me have been wodnering why I have become so much more stressed.

Try some breathing exercises, in the morning to start your day calmly and whenever you feel stressed. Very easy tool to use, and its with you all the time.

Skip to 4 minutes for start of explanations.

I use them and they do work.

    All the best bro.

    Think of it this way.

The male reproductive system is one of the strongest systems in a man's body (perhaps with fight or flight and extremely hunger). It's pretty much the reason dopamine and your social reward system exists.

For years, you (and all or us) have wired this system up to explicit imagery and basically high jacked it.

If you suddenly quit masturbation and porn, you are giving a hard reboot to that entire system. That's rough. It's going to be painful for a bit, and there's going to be some strange effects.

But for me it lasted only briefly and it is very much worth it. Everything else in life becomes much more interesting. Stay strong bro.

I just wanna say thank you to you guys for posting stuff like this up! I’m currently going through the phases of anxiety attacks and some depressive state.. I actually went through the whole 90 process and on day 96-98 I caved in. Right now though, I’ve learned to stop counting the days as I’ve personally come to realise that having to constantly look at the day counter actually does increases some stress in me.

The messed up thing is that as of right now, my appetite is so low, I’m feeling really week, spending my days just lying in bed, and I’ve completely lost my motivation to do anything at all. I know it’s all part of the journey. And I know that this phase will pass.

Once again I just wanna say that I’m really thankful for this community. I tend to lurk a lot, but I am learning so much from all of you guys!

We gotta just keep pushing through!

    Thanks for all support!

Today I told my closest friend at school about my stress. And then he suddenly told me that he used to have panic attacks every single weeks almost. I don't really know or care about talking about it myself, but I think it felt pretty good for him, to know he was not alone about it, and there was finally someone to tell.

Felt pretty good to tell it to my friend too, and we spent some time talking about it, how it felt, how to deal with it, etc.

Yeah! I love this community! It is full of support and a lot of people to learn from with great experience in different areas of life.

I struggeled a lot with my appetite for a long time (some of it was caused by being very depressed after a breakup). But later I started to drink a lot of water and I got back to the gym, and that helped a lot for me atleast to start eating more (+that I was in a better mood, but my mood got actually better by just getting some more food into me, even tho I did not really feel like it).
I don't know if this will help you, but at least it worked for me. I cut down on caffine drinks (they may make you lose some appetite, and can cause stress level to increase). Instead of caffine drinks like coffee, I started to drink a lot more water, which made me more clear in my head and I felt more often hungry.

Thanks for that advice! Having said that, as strange as it may seem, I tend to “listen” to my body as I’m going through this whole process. A couple of weeks ago, that was exactly what I was doing, drinking lots of water and only having only 1 cup of coffee in the morning. My appetite was normal and I felt great. Pretty high level of energy than usual and all that good stuff. It’s only been in the last week or so that I started feeling this way and I’ve been down this path before. The only difference is that this time around it is really hitting me hard. I feel numb throughout the day and I can feel this strange sensation going on in my brain. It’s not exactly a headache, just kinda feel like there’s some “rewiring” going on.

In any case, I appreciate your word of advice! I just know that I’ve got to live through this hell for the time being and just push myself forward how ever much that I can. I’m at a point in my life where I’m no longer looking to hit a long streak, rather I just want to completely get rid of this toxic habit.

    Yeah! :) Fully understand.

For me it got really bad regarding eating enough. I was and are now eating a lot, because I go to the gym a lot and trying to gain weight, but during the the periode I was depressed and hearthbroken, I lost 10 kgs. It made family and friends really worried.

But now I am happy and back on track! :) So no problem with weigth anymore.

Good luck to you! :) Have a great day! :)

Hey man. I'm right around 21 days and have been experiencing the same thing. And this isn't my first reboot. I'm unsure why this one is hitting me so hard mentally but it is. I have ups and downs all day long and then some great days and bad days. Let's get through it!

Yup, I feel the same way. It’s a very strange thing for me cause right now I really do feel like as though I’m in “no mans land”. It’s a bit frightening for me cause I feel like I’m at a place where I don’t even know who I am anymore. But somewhere deep down inside of me I know that this is all part of the process. It’s like I’m breaking myself away form the old me kinda thing.

Stay strong! Trust yourself and just push through this! We’ll get through this!

Yes, definitely. I had some panic attacks and/or extreme bouts of nervousness. Mine emerged when I was in bed with a woman, and couldn't get it up. At the time I didn't realize I was in flatline.

Just. Keep. Going. And don't give in.
Your urges will be extremely stronger until about ~50 days. Then around ~80 days you'll experience a month long flatline.

You need some hobbies and things to do to refocus you.

What I did to get out of flatline:
    - Kegel exercises
    - Exercise regularly
    - Take ginseng supplements (1000 - 1500 mg twice per day always with food)
    - L-arginine (500 mg as needed, do not take with Sildenafil or any ED med)
    - Sildenafil (if you absolutely must have sex)

I am now at day ~150 and my libido is back and stronger than ever. WAY stronger than when I regularly watched P and even stronger than when I quit P but still M'd with only my own stimulation.
