Rebooting has become easier with the increased knowledge of how women are abused in the porn industry. Their objectification and the shocking lack of care they receive make me feel really disgusted with the industry (see interviews with ex porn stars like Jessie Rogers). However, with female friendly porn I imagine that women are not objectified in the same way. I imagine they are treated with more care and humanity (I never got into FF porn but assume the above). This worries me as it is a potential avenue through which I could end up relapsing. Consider the following thought process: "pornography is an oppressive, commercial industry where women are subjected to severe abuse and objectification", "female friendly porn is ok as women are treated with care and respect"

If I allowed to myself to watch female friendly porn I'm sure it would be a slippery slope that would immerse me back into the world of porn addiction. I therefore do not want to accept FF porn as ok. Not watching it because of what it may lead to is not a very strong incentive. If there was something intrinsically wrong with it I would find it easier to abstain from it.

What are your views on female friendly porn?

"Female Friendly" is just a label porn websites slap on clips to get more women to watch. There is absolutely no difference in the creation process or content than any other "traditional" porn video. It may feature less males or less overtly offensive language but don't be fooled, it's just as objectifying and offensive. The women are treated no differently. I have heard the "argument" that they are made by women directors/producers etc so somehow things are made "okay", but all that means is that a female (producer) is now pimping and objectifying other females (performer) under the same conditions of any other porn set.

Be careful friend, you know what they say about what happens when you assume. I feel that FF porn (if such a thing exists) still objectifies the women. Even if their working conditions are acceptable to them, viewing the porn is still viewing them as sexual objects and using them as a way to get off.

For me, I have decided that if sexual feelings aren't or can't be reciprocated by an actual human being, then I have gone somewhere I shouldn't be, not only as far as my recovery goes, but as far as cultivating a healthy relationship with my own sexuality.

What Johnny said is absolutely true. Whether or not they are treated better doesn't stop you from basically using them to satisfy your own sexual pleasure. That is he basis of them being objectified. So if this is your major gripe with porn, then whether or not the girls are treated well does not matter. It is what YOU are doing that is the issue.

The only female friendly porn is the kind you record with your girlfriend and then never show to anyone else, ever.

And in that case still don't watch porn, just wait till your girlfriend can have sex with you.

    The end.

Porn is porn no matter how you look at it. Honestly, its best to just leave that stuff behind. When I used to watch porn the sad thing was I looked forward to watching it. Now I just want a girlfriend or just some new people to meet.

Regardless of how friendly the porn or how soft even, you are still inducing a drug-addicted brain with dopamine, you are still teaching your brain and sex organs to get used to self-touch, self-stimulation, and self-orgasm, destroying the inclination or ability for the real thing, plus a whole host of other usual downfalls of PMO - isolation, a vicious cycle uncontrolled - and it will eventually get old most likely, as all porn does, requiring you to go to another porn level - and your repeated and reinforced slavery to porn will leave you completely out of the choice. Not such a great plan. Yet, we must continue to crash and burn again and again until we believe this is bad for us and truly come to find it all quite destructive, hateful, and disgusting. Godspeed!

  9. "Female friendly porn" is like the "natural" label you find on your food, it means whatever the product-makers want it to mean. I've watched some stuff labeled that and while some of it seems ok (ok in the sense that the women are not being obviously abused) it still perpetuates the idea that women should be reduced to their sexuality and interacted with solely on that basis. If you want to free yourself from this inhuman impression and see women for the people they are, then cut out all the porn, and porn substitutes too. A copy of Cosmopolitan magazine can be just as bad as pornhub.

Yep, I agree with the others - 'female friendly' porn doesn't exist in the way you're describing.

Porn is objectification, pretty much by definition. However 'ethical' (and I use that term so loosely) it claims to be.

    Don't be be fooled.
