    Hi everybody !

I'm new here but I discovered this website some time ago. (Please excuse my english since I'm not a native english speaker !)

So, I'm 24 and I've watched porn since I'm 12 (I don't remember exactly). I think I'm not seriously addicted. There was always entire months without porn (but never longer...). Although I've never experienced ED, I find myself disgusting after watching porn. Moreover, I'm catholic and as you may know, luxury isn't really a good point. At least it gives me additional motivation for quitting ! So, it has been a long time since I decided it would be great to stop.

I really decided to quit about a year ago when I confessed my addiction to my girlfriend. She didn't blame me and was very understanding. So I started to keep a day counter (NoFap, no porn). I must say I already achieved 95 days by the end of July ! But... I relapsed. Actually I relapsed 4 times since. I really thought I was cured but the truth is I'm not. Don't misunderstand me, I do not complain. I'm aware some of you guys have some real problems to deal with. Let's say I was (I am...) only a small porn user. But still I really want to completely give up on that shit once for all !

If you have any advice for me, don't hesitate ! I thought I could manage to stop alone but I can't, that's why I finally decided to post here. By the way, it's good to see websites like this one exist. For this I thank you.

Set a vision of what tour life is gonna be after quiting. How excited you will be and motivate tour self by this vision everytime you think at porn. Be strong

  3. My advice would be: Learn from your relapse(s).

What caused you to relapse (e.g. anger)? In what environment did it happen (e.g. your room)? What were your thoughts that let the urges build up? Train your awareness and see what made you relapse in the first place. In most cases, the act of watching porn and masturbation is just the tip of the iceberg, because a bunch of mistakes were done prior to that incident.

Also, seek accountability. Do you have someone to speak to, someone you trust? There are platforms on Reddit, this forum or discord (e.g. Ascend: https://discord.gg/gQdhay)

Pay attention to the small mistakes too and take this day by day.

Bashi you're so right ! I saw it coming for days ! It is as if small thought came into your mind and get more and more about porn. I've just installed a porn blocker on my computer. It's not very efficient since I can easily deactivate it but at least it blocks suggestive content to avoid triggers.
Thank you for your post Chari, I should spend more time reading about recovery success it gives hope !
