Today is my first day as a Fapstronaut! I'm very nervous and excited to go on this journey with the support of this community. I'll keep this short and sweet. I gather that I have been addicted to pornography since the age of about 14, which directly coincides with my depression and anxiety issues that I have dealt with since that period. I never have told a therapist that I had been addicted to porn. It's strange that I feel comfortable admitting it here but would never admit it to my wife or family. The embarrassment of them finding out only fuels my anxiety. I decided to PM Reboot when I found r/NoFap on Reddit and found a video on r/JordanPeterson about the effects of porn addiction on the male brain. Once I discovered those effects, I immediately knew I had to be better, and try to quit this. I never wanted to admit that I had a problem, but I do. A reboot can only help my personal depression and anxiety, as well as my marriage and its sex life. I want to thank you all for being here to support myself and fellow Fapstronauts.

Congratulations on your decision. I to have been addicted to pornography since the age of 12. I have been attempting to wean myself slowly, I typically only have been slipping up about once every week or two, so it is progress. Just like you I am sick of the symptoms that come along with this addiction. Best of luck to you on your journey.
