Flatline or just sad

    How do you guys know when you are in a flatline or just sad? Doing good but want to know the difference for future events
     
  2. I guess everyone is different. For me, flatline means I don't get aroused much and don't wake up aroused. I can be sad and still get aroused. But certainly, you can be both flatlining and sad.

    My dudes there are a couple of things to bear in mind whilst undergoing a PMO reboot. I got to 90 days on my first attempt at the NoFap before relapsing and binging hard... Anyway:

    1. 2020 has been a dumpster fire of a year for many people and has hit even a lot of people really hard. Community mental health is at an all time low and a real risk factor right now when you take into account job losses, lockdowns and lockdown isolation, anxiety about politics etc. If trying to reboot at this time, is probably the ultimate hard mode. So don't be too hard on yourself if trying to reboot right now and especially if you relapse.
    2. There is a very real difference between a PMO rebooting flatline/s and the symptoms chronic anxiety and depression. The flatlines I've found came and went over my 90 day reboot. Chronic anxiety and depression hung around with me for 30ish years as it was untreated and required licensed medical professionals to help me overcome it. I took 4 years, but now I can live the next 40 knowing exactly how to combat it. Trust me, DO NOT mess around with anxiety and depression. If you feel like you've been feeling depressed and anxious whilst you were still doing the PMO thing, reach out and use the mental health phone lines / organisations in your area specialising in this. Anxiety and depression gets people killed.
    3. During my rebooting flatlines, negative emotions came in the forms of waves and usually when I was at my weakest eg. just before bed-time, hadn't eaten that day or faced with a major stressor that day. My theory on this one is that my mind both conscious and subconscious knows everything about me and is prepared to fight dirty to get what it wants: relapse / dopamine hit.
