    Hi,

I'm on day 266 of my current - and hopefully last - streak, doing mostly fine and have definitely noticed improvements in terms of my overall well-being, emotional and cognitive sensitisation to "the world", somewhat increased mental clarity, gradual psychological detachment from porn and PMO, gradually (albeit not linearly) decreased urges, higher confidence and less anxiety (even though I never was highly anxious to begin with); me looking at women in a less immediately-pornographically-sexualising way, and some other things.
What's bothering and annoying me is the frequency at which I experience wet dreams, though. I have had 39 (!) wet dreams so far. They started occurring after pretty much exactly two weeks of abstinence, as was always the case before, but since then, their frequency sort or doubled. I had a wet dream free phase of about two months upon peaking heavily one day (without touching myself and eventually pulling myself up and stopping, which was insanely hard; hence why I didn't reset my counter, although "technically" it surely messed up with my reward pathway to some extent), which was the best phase of abstaining from PMO I had ever experienced. My psychological well-being increased significantly, even my speech got noticeably better, i.e. more effortless, clearer and cleaner (I did/do have some issues initiating and performing completely stutter-free, non-hasty speech). This was almost five months ago. The frequency eventually increased to once every three weeks, and by now, they're happening almost every five to seven days which is annoying the fuck out of me. I loved not being very horny throughout the two month period mentioned (didn't have a "true" flatline, though), which by now is very different not only because the chaser effect kicks in pretty mich every single time. I don't feel particularly depressed or "hungover", but it's noticeably "consuming" my psychological state to some extent. I didn't and still don't phantasise much; in fact, especially after my last "peaking incident", I felt so determined to combat the subsequent urges that I started practising some sort of "mind control", i.e. transformed every sexual/pornographic image that got into my head into disgusting, gross imagery, which also translated to being able to easily block "attempts" of my brain at dreaming sexual/pornographic dreams. This made abstinence a lot easier, but in the last weeks and months, along with pornographic urges successively subsiding, this "mindset" started to fade away to some extent. I still don't phantasise much, but blocking sexual dreams got harder by now.
My question, therefore, is whether the wet dreams are likely to keep happening at this frequency or subside eventually (I've read a lot of reports about that and the general impression I got was that wet dreams start occurring less and less with time. Well, I can't confirm that so far). Also, I'd like to know if there are certain things more or less certain to prevent wet dreams from occurring which I could do. I did read some things about that - sleeping on the side, not sleeping on the side (lol), not eating late, not eating spicy before going to bed, taking cold showers before going to bed, not phantasising, exercising before going to bed, not exercising (lol#2), not wearing tight underwear, not using thick blankets, doing Kegel exercises and a few more things. Most of them - except for Kegel exercises, which I'll start doing now, I was doing more or less regularly anyway. And while I noticed that certain things presumably increased the likelihood of wet dreams to happen (tight underwear, eating late, eating spicy, sleeping on the belly, sleeping on the back (not sure about that)), n o t doing them and doing other things instead (e.g. cold showers, which I have been exclusively doing for close to four years by now) didn't prevent wet dreams from happening in general.

I'd appreciate any advice you could give on this issue.

  2. Wet dreams are normal part of growing up,don't feel embarrasing,at least you can do this, pls understand this and take your thoughts away from it.You may have a good amount of testosterone in your body.We have these dreams which make us insecure, but don't mind it,be happy you can also do this, everyone have this problem, wear underwear to prevent wetting your bed, that is better and never try to force tricks on you.Be a normal Man and go with your chores,it will be alright and don't be depressed bcz it's not a problem when you look outside. Subconsious mind will forget this, believe yourself.
