    hey guys,

I just wanted to introduce myself and wanted to say what a supportive community you have here.

I have been dealing with porn addiction since i was 12 years old. I am now 29 married to a beautiful woman and expecting a bub soon.

Porn is ruining my life. I have tried abstaining for a long while. Yet the longer i veer from it the more heightened my senses become ie noticing more females noticing tights short skirts revealing clothes etc. eventually these triggers lead to a relapse and it makes me feel helpless and go back to square one. The addiction component of it shows itself in a way where i completely ignore my worldly responsibilities and consume days and days worth of images pictures etc

My goal is to avoid getting these triggers (from movies, people on the street, youtube etc)

This is the most difficult thing i had to deal with but i want it out of my life for my sake and my families sake.

Would like to hear back from anyone.

    Thanks

    Hi, welcome!

I am dealing with the same issues. A friend of mine (actually my Pastor) told me about "bouncing" your eyes. Basically every time you see something, like a woman wearing revealing clothing, you bounce your eyes off and away - like you were bouncing a tennis ball. If that makes sense :)

You can't help seeing temptation the first time, but it's the second and third look that we can avoid.

I haven't arrived yet, but I have started the journey and hoping that we can help each other as we go forward.

    Welcome,

I wish you lot of success with your plan.

    But one thing:

To me it seems pretty though to avoid all these things. I don't know where you live, but if you wanna avoid seeing women in thight cloths, you literally can't go out of your house anymore (at least in summer).
So maybe you can find a way to handle these triggers in a different way rather than trying to avoid all of them; e.g. the way Overcomer777 said.

Agreed, I stopped going to the gym cos I thought that if I avoid women, especially those in workout gear, it would help with temptation - but you can't stop living life.

You need to find a way to deal with the lust... which is why we are all here I guess!

I mean the first important question is what happens to you if you see for example girls in fitness gear? Do you just find them attractive or do you need to M immediatly?
Because I always get rid of my needs by doing sports. If I really do this in a mindfull way; just focusing on doing the exercise temptation goes away pretty fast. Sadly you can't do sports all the time.

I have not been on this victory journey very long, but my hope for myself and for you is total and complete victory over lust. Lust is about taking what you want from another person to satify yourself, Love is about giving yourself to another person for thier pleasure. The more you walk the right path, the more this new path will become normal to you. Dont give up, your brain can change and repair but it takes time.
