I came to the understanding that I haven't been a great friend to the people I've encountered in life. The cost for this is no friends I can really call friends. Hugh Black's book really put a clear picture about this subject that many in the church neglect or under emphasize. But that's a long discussion. I really wish I had good friends and that I am a good friend. Loniless isn't good and isn't God's design for His people. Sure we experience aloneness a natural feeling and part of life, but loniness and no one in our lives that we can call a close friend is different. Pray for me, pray for God to bring solid Christian friends into my life.
I am praying! God is good and he provides. A good friend is a great treasure! Do not forget that we have a very Good Friend, indeed, one who is closer than a brother and with us always. But friends-with-skin-on are good, too!
