I'm a 25 year woman. I have had 196 sexual partners and was addicted to sex. When I caught herpes my addiction got worse and at my lowest point I was sleeping with 2 men a night. Thankfully I am not H.I.V positive even though I deserve it. Anyways, I have been celibate since November 24th 2015 and it is actually a miracle.

Counselling definitely helped but I would say the two books that I read that helped the most were 'A Spiritual Guide to Battling Sex Addiction' and 'Out the Shadows: Understanding Sexual Addiction'. I recommend those two books to any1 who wants to truly understand and beat their addiction.

Love you all and please pray that I continue my road to recovery. God bless you all!!!

Congratulations! I read "Out of the Shadows" 3 yrs ago; before I discovered YBOP and this site. I threw the book away for fear of it being found out. I wish I hadn't. Good luck to you!

I'm the wife of a porn addict and I wanted to say, I am so happy for you!!

I keep going over the line, "Thankfully I am not H.I.V positive even though I deserve it." I want you to know you don't deserve bad things. You have an addiction. You did things due to that addiction. Now you are working to change and help yourself. You deserve good things! Virtual hugs and I just prayed for you.

Is the book 'A Spiritual Guide to Battling Sex Addiction' helped you ?
I'm thinking about buying it and give it a read.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

That's amazing! Thanks for sharing (a bit of) your story!

Forgive me for asking, but how did you keep track of the amount of sexual partners? 196 seems high to count without effort!

Thanks for all the support guys. I really appreciate the love and may god bless you all. Yes Winston, the book you mentioned helped me to really understand my addiction, so I would definitely recommend it to any1 who wants to beat their addiction. And Dizzy Lotus, I know the number of sexual partners I have had because I keep a diary. May seem weird but that's just me lol.

People with this kind of problem with sex generally have deep seated psychological issues with sex from when they were younger. Girls who were abused tend to be notoriously promiscuous, it's just how it is. I would suggest continuing therapy. Thanks for sharing your story.

Perhaps you made 196 mistakes in the past, but it seems that you have corrected this by 167 days of celibacy. Think about it, in just 29 days you will have made more correct decisions than mistakes.

It's not a miracle. It's hard work, determination and perseverance.

You deserve a lot of credit for your accomplishment.

No one deserves H.I.V. I don't care if you found God, no one must say this to someone, especially to themselves.
Stop being so harsh on yourself.

You've made it through tough times. You're a winner.
You deserve to give yourself a pat on the back.

If you had sex addiction, you probably have co-dependency issues as well. I would suggest you look into that. But moreover, I hope you asked God for forgiveness . You need to get saved. I would cry out to God if I were you. God Bless, Sara.
