As i'm typing this i'm on day 15. My record was over 150 days before, I'd have thought it would not affect my self-esteem, but falling back to the addition caused me to feel much more insecure, weaker eye-contact, unwilling to go to battle, easily giving up. When you go on long streaks, you become more of a legend, that's how I viewed myself, I felt no man could conquer me, and I had the capacity to take over the world by my presence. I have a theory that confidence in general, the profound one, comes from going against your impulses, when we don't let our self-indulge in short-term pleasure, you are not heading for greatness.

Yes you're right. Do you mind if i ask what made you relapse after 150 days ?

I guess I forgot what it felt like to be addictive to porn again. Even if you have the perfect body, if you stop exercising, you start slowly but surely to lose it again. I forgot why I began in the first place

Yeah man i feel you it's the same with exercise i used to workout everyday almost but i slowly loosed the pace and i forgot why i started in the first place and the benefits i gained. I need to formulate clear goals and remind myself on a daily basis why i'm doing it, may be Nofap or Workout. Anyway man i hope you make it so far that you don't ever have to look back on this addiction. God Bless you and have a good night.

This is such a powerful post and also I like to share another perspective about this.

It is true that we gain something when we don't indulge in impulsive behavior - but I also find that sometimes i can take that too far and avoid all kinds of sexuality and relationships and become more like a monk.

This initially gives me a sense of relief and helps me to focus on my self, but after a while - even though peaceful - it is lacking another quality of self-expression, passion, and inspiration.

So I know how to be super zen and monk-like, I know how to be a total addict, my challenge is to find the middle way where I can still go on dates, be social, and pursue wholesome desires, without giving a free license to my impulsive nature.

Cool zen saying goes like this "it is easy enough to sit still, the difficulty is to try to walk without touching the ground"

In other words, it is easy to renounce the world, but the challenge is to be in the world but not become addicted to the world and take things too far.
