Please read these and then watch the videos. They will make you laugh and cry. How many of us can relate to this...

"Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie." ~ C.G. Jung

“The lie tastes sweet at the beginning, but bitter at the end. The truth tastes bitter at the beginning, but sweet at the end." ~ Buddha

“At every crossway on the road that leads to the future, each progressive spirit is opposed by a thousand mediocre minds assigned to guard the past.” ~Maurice Maeterlinck

Hi jilted, thanks for posting. As you know, reading posts and replying are part of my recovery, so thanks. I appreciate the humor and philosophical insight you bring to our problem. I enjoyed the videos. Enjoyed the Weller video especially. I burnt up Setting Sons when I was a kid, back when I made sure to wear a safety pin out every where I went. I must confess I had never heard of Harry and Paul, but I get it. Wrong side of the pond I suppose. Someone else here posted this video, hope you enjoy it. My favorite line: "Porn? What's porn?"

    Good luck on your journey.

Ha! 'Porn, what's porn?' Reminds me of a time when I had bought some musical equipment years ago (I was terrible for overspending!) and I was banking on me getting to the post man first but when I got home from work there my new purchase was already unpacked on the kitchen table overshadowed by my partner who said, 'what's this?' and I looked at it and said, 'what?' as if there was nothing there in a desperate bid to give me a few extra seconds to think of something! It was pathetic and we can both laugh about it now but looking back it wasn't good at all (we were really 'poor'!) but I can also see how much I've changed and that feels good at least:eek: I love those Harry and Paul sketches, that feeling of utter alienation on his face at the end of the first clip still has me welling up! Thanks for your comments by the way and thanks for all your help, they are greatly appreciated:)

I'm sorry but I couldn't resist adding this one as it sums as it also speaks volumes...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALP3G0kAoMY;):D

That 'Harry and Paul' series... Damn, that's so like me. Except for that I don't even attempt actually getting people into my interests.

I think he is attempting to 'share' and 'discuss' things that have started to interest him and these scetches brilliantly illustrate the frustration that many of us can relate to when dealing with rigid, black and white people. 'Imposing' commences with a totally different 'intention' as it is forcing your views onto somebody and thats not the case at all with these extremely clever and insisive clips.
