I have an idea for shifting our p addiction to something else which apparently should be intriguing such as playing games implicating the idea of temporarily shifting addiction any ideas?

Its all up to you.You can do things which interests you the most.Playing games is a good idea to stay away from PMO.But don't get addicted to it.Or instead you can start some productive activities, along with gaming, like reading books, solving puzzles etc.Or else you can go for games which can help you improve your memory, concentration etc.

Anyway addicted to PMO is more dangerous than addicted to games.I have addicted to YouTube a bit, but with the help of this I been able stay away from PMO...

Thats already what i mean gaming addiction is not even comparable to p addiction, p addiction is disabling games are not and also games gives u some shots of adrenaline so gradually p is not ur only source of happiness maybe

  4. I have been playing Playstation for something less than a week and you can get addicted to it very fast and then you want to do nothing except play.
It's a good idea if you are just trying to ride out the urges of the first 2 weeks but after that, try to find something else because you can end up having 2 addictions.

Seems to me a worthwhile experiment. First ditch the porn in favor of gaming; then try to find other activities to replace the gaming, which is probably a habit a little easier to break. I'm currently in that stage. Not using porn but turning to other computer things (like this site!) instead. Pretty soon I guess I'll need to find some other, more productive activities, but for now, I'm just so relieved to be off the porn. Good luck to you! Let us know how it goes.

In my case I started to weaken my urges by learning things from youtube and being interested in them. I hope ONE DAY my urges will be gone for good. I am deploying my troops in urge land to defeat my urges. lol.

  8. It depends on your life goals.

  9. That's a good idea! But be careful not to replace your porn addiction with a game addiction. Gaming is great and a fun hobby in moderation. Make sure to do other things as well as gaming including creative things.

  10. Using gaming as a porn substitute, I have been doing this for years and already suggested it to people here. It works but like others have said it can be another addiction but far less bad for your body than porn in my opinion. Gaming is like learning it makes you smarter, increases your reflexes, memory retention. I’m a programmer it’s very common for programmers to be gamers. I’m sure you have seen it in many movies, geeks with high IQ.

And it worked as a substitute?

  13. I've alwas enjoyed playing computer games and personally i've found it to be a great alternative to PMO. It's one of those forms of entertainment that takes you into a fantasy world but in a safe and controlled way, ie: you can only ever go as far as the game will allow whereas with Porn there are no barrieres except the ones you form in your mind, and often those can get eroded and warped over time. My advice is to also find another hobby that doesn't involve the computer so you are not spending all your time on it. For example i've taken up making scale models which is creative and gives a sense of achievement.

  14. It always works for me when I get urges. Hasn’t failed once. Like others have said though, don’t turn into a game zombie.

    Great guys ...encouraging experiences

  16. If you want it to work then yes it will. But it takes willpower to make the change. The hours you spend gaming can replace the hours you spent fapping. You can get your dopamine hit from the gaming. But I'm not going to lie you have to want to stop at the same time too... Its easier to just have a goal something that you are fighting for and use that as your power for avoiding PMO.

  18. MY ED is not that bad these days... But my life is in low period at the moment... Unemployment, stress and depression, makes it so easy to break streaks... I found a video on YouTube its not new, but it is the first time i have seen it. I am sure a lot of people can relate to it. I am not a virgin but, my anxiety is similar to what he has been going through. And combining gaming with porn...

Gaming wont give you erectile dysfunction, depression, dopamine deficiency, destroy your relationships or give you lack of energy. I used to be addicted to games when i was like 14 and now i have no addiction at all. Once your time gets more filled up (when u start work) then u will naturally play less. Also you should workout.

  20. I meant that PMO gave me ED. I was talking in general about my experience on here over the years. Did a few reboots before i relapsed and that is why my ED is not a huge problem for me. Yet to build up a tolerance to excessive PMO again... I am not really addicted to gaming i could stop if i wanted. My problem is that i have nothing going on in my life. No job... So i fill the time with gaming, it is my therapy. Because when you are failing outside you need something to make you feel good again. Too depressed to even work out, it costs money to maintain a healthy diet. Single, taking a break from the dating too many bad experiences last year... See how being unemployed, really messes up your life...
