It's just as the title suggests. Should I get rid of social media? Instagram is my main source of triggers and if you guys think I should, I'll cut it off immediately.

Well, let me rephrase the question: Do you think it's important to get rid of one's main source of triggers?

Or let me say it in other words: Can you do 30 days without PMO while still using Instagram every day?

My suggestion: Don't log in. Do the 30 day challenge without Instagram. And then decide.

Wow, that's just a great idea right there! I'm new here and deleting my Instagram would be quite an improvement since I had it for guys like [NSFW]Dan Bilzerian[/NSFW] or [NSFW]Jen Selter[/NSFW]. Yeah.

    I agree with seventyniner.

I only used facebook. I don't use Instagram or Twittr, so it was quite easy for me so to speak. It is not that I deleted my facebook account, but I removed the app on my phone and I blocked the site on my laptop. And it is great actually, cause you just stare at photo's and read brainless statuses. I have so much time on my hands now! :)

Facebook or other social media sites can be a source of temptation for me at least. There is a lot of provocative stuff that gets put on there, and you really have no control over what you are going to see when you pull up your news feed. Just today somebody posted a video of girls dancing/twerking and I just automatically clicked on it, then watched another, then realized what the hell am I doing, this isn't that far from porn. I'm not considering deleting my facebook, but it is something I have to be careful with, maybe unfollowing some friends or pages that post stuff like that.

Just checked the [NSFW]Dan Bilzerian[/NSFW] instagram account out of curiosity.
    I consider that as P dude. I mean, it's [NSFW]playboy[/NSFW] material! Lol!

Immediately closed it. You should obviously do the same.

I only use Twitter, and only follow real friends and business for that reason. Facebook not only lead to lust, but is such a crappy alternative to real relationships. Worse, Facebook would keep my real life relationships from flourishing (not just implying girlfriends, but just friends in general), because it was like keeping old relationships on life support.

If you love them, pull the plug. Focus on the here and now. The friends and family that REALLY matter, you'll still call and email, or share photos using other options (DropBox, Google Drive, Picasa, Flickr, whatever).

The temptation isn't worth it (I canned Instagram and Pinterest on my phone for the same reason).

  9. My friend, you'll have to do anything possible to solve the problem of pmo. so if instagram is becoming a thorn in your flesh, cut it off.

Agree with this fellow. Cut it off and cast it away. It's the next step in your journey, man.

Facebook, instagram etc. Are a complete waste of time. You gain ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Consider it as an addiction and follow the same rules.

I was able to cut the bonds of social media due to my current social status, so in a way I am blessed. It gives me time to mature and take a step back from the shallow, look at ME how special, blessed, and beautiful I am egoistic limelight so to speak, and be better prepared for when I start using social media in the future for a business dream or because perhaps my future woman wants me to have a facebook or something.
