"What a pity! An ice-berg peak as tiny as one square inch has been the source of great inspiration and misery for centuries." ~ Anonymous Chinese poet on mans obsession with sex.

"Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better." ~ Albert Einstein, physisist

"There is a way that nature speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story." ~ Linda Hogan, poet and novelist

"Sexual hormones are important to our harmonious development. When men abuse the reproductive function, the secrections of the sexual glands are lost resulting in mental and physical weaknest, inability to concentrate, and a less tenacious memory." ~ Dr Beyoihn, endocrinologist

I just wanted to offer a quick suggestion for people new to sexual energy transmutation who would like to 'ease' their way in gently (just to avoid overload etc).

And what is sexual energy transmutation in a nutshell? Quite simply the sublimation/conversion of the creative/sexual energy 'wasted' via ejaculation into 'fuel' for all manner of creative pursuits etc- a better explanation more than welcome as that was just off the top of my head although I love this by Mantak Chia, "sperm power is a super potent force readily available to men, awaiting only their harvest. Sexual essence is a building block for expanding our personal universe, the foundation for human love and evolution."

You can also use these techniques to convert sexual frustration/arousal and so its a great way of dealing with this type of thing.

Firstly, you might want to read a book called 'Sexual Energy Transmutation' by Jay Onwukwe as its a really good, quick and easy to read little book that should help get newcomers to this stuff started/enthused.

Then get hold of 'Taoist Sexual Secrets' by Lee Holden and Rachel Carlton Abrams who both studied with Mantak Chia for 20 years and have written books with him. Noy available as a book this AUDIO programme (and phone app!) really breaks down the practices Mantak Chia writes of at great length in his books into very plain and simple language and (with some application) can really get you started on the practical side of things (exercises etc). This is particularly good for those of us who are busy etc (I listened to this several times in the car whilst going about my day)

Here's an excellent interview with the authors Taoist Sexual Secrets

Then read the book 'Taoist Secrets of Love: Cultivating Male Sexual Energy' by Mantak Chia which will offer a much more comprehensive understanding of the above but will also be much easier to digest having 'softened the soil' with the other two suggestions.

This is just a suggestion mind and each publication is great in its own right (the last one being particularly comprehensive)

I certainly will. Am practicing the 'techniques' daily and not 'struggling' at all if I'm perfectly honest. And honestly I'm not being arrogant as I respect the process of change massively but PMO is most definitely OFF the menu from now on and to finally be properly exploring sexual/creative energy transmutation after many years of 'distant' curiosity has been a MAJOR discovery for me that I am truly excited about. And, if you bear in mind the Buddah quote in my signature the 'truth' may not be all fireworks and explosions' like the 'lie' can feel like in the beginning but it just feels 'right' after years of seeing/feeling the porn industry propagated LIE of sex as a 'goal' orientated activity and totally wasting my creative/jing energy just turn plain 'bitter' in the end.

Feeling enthusiastic, i will definitely check these books out man perhaps you have discovered gold man since you state " Am practicing the 'techniques' daily and not 'struggling' at all if I'm perfectly honest. " There has to be some truth to this man, i am glad you 'connected' all the right dots bro, really i aught to quit saying and actually commit. I don't know if its PMO or not but i tend to procrastinate every time i embark on something new, and that includes reading a book, but enough about that, without action, there is no movement, ain't that right ? Look forward to to this thread growing thanks jiltedjohn as always! Let us seek freedom!

Cheers mate and yes, get stuck in the first book is a great read and should really spare you on. Understandably this stuff can be seen as a little 'esoteric' (and even pretentious:confused:) to some, especially those who claim to be driven by 'science' and I have had many a conversation with people over the years regarding (even fairly elementary) practices etc only to be dismissed as 'gullible' or 'pretentious' by people who believe in 'science'. Oddly enough I think science is incredibly relevant and when you mention classic books like Fritjof Capras 'the Tao of Physics' or Bruce Liptons 'the Biology of Belief' etc etc its often dismissed as 'mad' science because mainstrean education/media advocates nothing whatsoever that might just be the catalyst for true 'awakening' which is why so much is done to promote the complete and utter opposite less those who 'profit' from ignorance lose their positions of power and 'influence' etc!

And so honestly even though I claim to be finding this 'challenge' relatively easy (not always but certainly much more so since discovering/embracing these practices) because of the use of sexual energy sublimation it will more often than not be frowned upon with the precise kind of skeptism you would expect from a society believing their modern scientific advances have long since moved 'rational' people way beyond all this 'mumbo jumbo' whilst being blisfully unaware that modern science has totally confirmed the accuracy of the knowledge that spawned these practices in the first place!!

    Consider these two statements...

"Things derive their being and nature by mutual dependence and are nothing in themselves."

"An elementary particle is not an independently exsisting, unanalyzable entity. It is, in essence a set of relationships that reach outward to other things."

The first is by second century buddhist Nagarjuna and the second by H.P. Stapp, a twentieth century physicist! And yet in our ignorance and arrogance we still believe that with all our technological 'advances' etc we are the most civilised/advanced version of our species ever. I recall reading that when Gandhi was asked what he thought of western civilisation he replied that he thought it was "a good idea" (!!) and although I cant imagine his actual perception of the west (considering the shit they cause 'abroad'!) I can certainly appreciate the essence of his sentiment!

And I'm not going to apologise for the rant (although I might later;)) because I am not ranting, simply stating what I consider to be true which seems to be increasingly 'criminal' in a world eloquently described by John Lennon when he said, "Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it."

So I dont know that sexual/creativity transmutation is the key at all as it clearly won't fit everyone but even if people simply re-direct their time/thoughts/energies into more constructive/creative activities/pursuits (or even doing 'precious' nothing via meditation?) then they are transmuting sexual energy anyway whether they are aware of it or not? I just happen to believe they could greatly enhance that practice and their general experience etc by utilising techniques that were developed long long before we became so 'advanced'?

    Just suggestions ;)

I've told this story many times here but it seems particularly at home in this thread...maybe(?)...

I remember once my Aikido teacher demonstrating something called 'unbendable arm' which consists of projecting thought/energy through the arm rendering it 'unbendable' when somebody slowly tried to bend it. It also consisted of making the arm 'soft' by relaxing completely and absorbing rhe energy of the person trying to bend it. This had NOTHING to do with competition or the usual 'get me look how tough I am' nonsense that all too often passes as 'strength' but was simply a demonstration of a different kind of 'strength'.On this particular occasion it was being shown for the first time to a physics teacher at a local secondary school. And it was working. He wasn't using any physical strength whatsoever and yet nobody could bend his arm. He had never experienced anything quite like it before- and he was amazed! But after a short while he started to get agitated and a 'troubled' look betrayed his inner dilemma. "Is there any instrument that can measure and verify this so it can be scientifically proven to work" he nervously enquired. "Can you feel it", asked the teacher, "yes I can", came the reply, "then do you not already have all the proof you need?"

    We never saw him again!!??

An important consideration for those choosing not to ejaculate, for whatever reason. Please note that when sexual/creative energy is not expressed/directed via either external or internal orgasm/sublimation (and it's understandable most are not aware of the latter) it can cause all kinds of dis-ease and so I would go as far as to say that if you are NOT ejaculating it's essential to cultivate sexual energy transmutation practices asap which are simple to learn and practice with a little application etc.

To me this poses a fundamental problem for the NoFap community because simply put there is fapping with and fapping without ejaculation and maybe a clear distinction needs to be made between the two because, as stated earlier, creative energy seeks to express itself and repression of this (as with any other kind of repression) will have consequences so this is something well worth addressing and I guess my initial question would be to ask is self-arousal (to stir and distribute/sublimate sexual energy) WITHOUT ejaculation still masturbation? (and I know people 'edge' but that's not the same as energy sublimation.) Or are we here to stop ejaculation outside of actual sexual encounters with another person and especially when stimulated by pornography of any description?

Is fapping without ejaculation the same as edging?

Based on my experience, I've tried to fap but supressed ejaculation,
but in most cases I failed, i.e. I almost always get to the point of no return,
and finally allowed myself to ejaculate.

I'm convinced that fapping that leads to ejucation can deplete us of a lot of energy,
and I'm OK with exercises that can energize or improve our health, even if they may include
touching or massaging the private parts.
My problem is how to do it right and how not sublimate the sexual energy,
without getting into the point of no return (ejaculatory inevidability).

Its a tricky one, is fapping to the point of being close to ejaculation then stopping edging? My point is that it all depends on the INTENTION and of course people will say it is merely edging if their intention wasnt to build sexual energy to be transmuted into chi/shen energy etc and so I would suggest this is a very different practice from simply edging because the intention is completely different.

I know you have ordered the resources and yes edging without orgasm and getting the timing right by using the pc muscle etc takes practice so as mentioned before learn all the principles first and take your time with this. Probably best to learn the meditations like tbe microcosmic orbit and really strengthening your pc muscle well on advance of trying to stop ejaculation. You can get started simply be contracting and relaxing the muscle that you could use to stop peeing mid flow about 100 times per day and just really make yourself aware of that muscle as its going to become your new best friend!;)
