Hello All,
As the title states, while I am very glad to have found this site/group, I'm also slightly dismayed that it only happened by accident. I came across an article online which listed the benefits of abstaining from pornography. While I didn't know whether or not I was "addicted" to porn, I decided to test myself and went for about 4 or 5 weeks. Satisfied that I wasn't a porn addict, I went right back to my old habits.
Recently, I engaged in sexual encounter and while arousal was no problem, I had trouble achieving orgasm. I came to the realization that continued use of porn was destroying my ability to enjoy a healthy sexual relationship. I decided to do some research and found hundreds of articles, TED talks, etc dealing with this topic. People need to know just how self destructive this is. Personally, I had no idea the potential dangers of this habit. What's worse, no one seems to be talking about it (most likely due to embarrassment). I am now fully on the NoFap train and would like to encourage others to start talking about this problem with your friends whether you think they have the same issues or not. This is nothing less than a public health crisis, particularly for younger men. Thanks and best of luck to you all.
