  2. I went to a therapist January through June.

Initially it was a great help. I wouldn’t be where I am now if I hadn’t gotten his help.

But I decided to end it because the cost vs. benefits had swung in the other direction, meaning that the money I was spending wasn’t getting me anything.

The last few sessions were mostly just sitting and smiling awkwardly at each other. He had given me a workbook to go through and said each week we’d review my homework but he didn’t do that. He kept going over the same stuff or say we’ll look at the book later. I felt like he was dragging things out to keep the money flowing.

I had a rough July and August but I was applying the lessons learned. Also this site and SAA were a help. Finally at end of August something inside of me “clicked off” and I’ve been able to stay away from PMO since then. No desires to go back to that lousy life!!!

Also be aware that not all therapists are the same. I was lucky to find a man who had struggled before and had victory over it. He was also professionally trained for this specific addiction. Other therapists may not be right for PMO or sex addiction.

    Best wishes to you!
