    Everyone,

I wish to express my gratitude for both this site and for everyone's participation. I am finding out very quickly that reading and posting here is a perfect way for me to ignore my urges and avoid fapping and porn.

Therefore, my "tip" to each of you who read this: Please post! The more we read and learn....and the more we post about what we read and learn.....The more healing we will all experience.

So whoever you are.....I thank you.

    David

There is something good about efforts - but efforts must go in the right direction.

Postings should lift up other people, inspire them, make them feel good. Too many postings are against something, against PMO, against sex. It's much better to turn the focus on true happiness, on self-acceptance and inner fulfillment.

Especially we, the older ones, should tell the young people: life can be very , very worth-living. Don't make Nofap a new religion in your life, listen to your inner voice and make your own decisions. If you are addicted to P and/or M - get rid of this addiction. And if you think you are not addicted to P and/or M - try to avoid it for 30 days. Maybe you will find out how addicted you really are. To enjoy this life to the fullest it is good to be free from any addiction.

Well said Yanis! I really liked the comment that life is very, very worth living. It truly is. And, yep, if you can't go thirty days without masturbating or porn.....there's a problem. (Count me as having a problem, of course.)

@Davidphd1866 I was just reading this post from @ncsest. It says almost the opposite of your views: he acknowledges that he needs to post, but doesn't want to.

I agree with you. It would be lovely to lead a life where I just do not think about pornography, and perhaps one day I will get there. But right now I am immersed in a battle to rid my life of pornography use and while I am in that battle the help and support I find here is invaluable. I am struggling to give up pornography, therefore pornography plays on my mind, and coming here to "read and learn" and to heal may be the only thing that's making it work.

@Davidphd1866 It works, too. To get support from others, ideas from people with similar emotional trauma, who are suffering similar rock bottom consequences from bad choice experiences Keep on contributing. It helps us all to stay educated and feel involved in an active fight. We don't need to rest on past content. Help a friend out who is there right now not knowing how to get connected with additional resources. Stay in the conversation :)

    For sure, man.

I feel like I get strong urges because I am 15 years old and I am going through puberty, and because of hormones.

I’ve heard of natural herbs that can control it, so I might buy it.

It’s just tough, because certain pictures of women are soooooooooooooooo sexy, but I know I shouldn’t relapse to them because those pictures are horrible for the reboot. I hope I didn’t trigger anyone, I just wanted to be honest from a male perspective.

Porn filters and adult content blockers help a lot, too.

    Natural foods help too.

    Third eye,

Congratulations to you for being aware at such an early age the ravages of porn. Being self aware and knowledgeable is probably all you need at age 15 to succeed in life.

However, I beg you NOT to do anything to alter your natural hormone levels. This is extremely dangerous (ask an endocrinologist) and should especially NOT be done by a growing young man. Please do not let the word "natural herbs" fool you. Natural doesn't necessarily mean good. Lots of poisons are "natural". Socrates died by drinking hemlock tea......a natural substance!

Instead, pleas focus on eliminating porn and joining the 7 day challenges. My guess is that an overwhelming number of forum members here would agree that elimination of porn and a reasonable limit on masturbation should be good enough for someone still in their teens.

So you’re saying I should just masturbate without porn within moderation?

And obviously I will read into the herbs before I buy them. I a, aware that a lot of things can be poisonous

Yes. I said essentially that. Hence, I believe a 7 day challenge is perfect for you. No porn....EVER. Limit your masturbation to no more than once a week. If you find a girl you really like, you will make much better decisions with her if you already demonstrated some self control. In my humble opinion, at age 15 limited masturbation may actually be a safer alternative than sex with a female. You should worry more about an unwanted pregnancy than too much masturbation at this point.

Yet, you already demonstrate a mature attitude, so you are going to be fine. You should rest easy.

As for "herbs" and such, I can say with a LOT of expertise: eat a balanced diet with lots of fruits and veggies and moderate amounts of a lean meat. Your energy levels will be incredible and develop a good physique. Women will love you.

    Good luck!

Well it honestly gets super hard for me, maybe because of my hormones.

If I were to masturbate once a week, can it be to a picture of a real women from google images? Is it even ok for me to masturbate once a week?

Also, I don’t eat meat, but I try to be vegan.

    I also exercise 5 days a week.

I believe many here will caution you to avoid using photos or computer images to masturbate with. Just about ALL of us started that way.....doing so quickly devolves into an endless descent into a pit of despair. Try to just masturbate using only the sensations of your body.

As for vegan, there is a LOT of debate that rages about vegan vs conventional diet. The safest thing here is to keep in mind that avoiding extremes is in your best interest. Notice I said MODERATE amount of lean meat. Your body needs very little. But it doesn't need "zero". Eat lots of fruits and veggies......Then your body will tell you what's next. Avoid food that comes in a box. Hard to do, I know.

Not really, I don’t eat that bad anways.

And you’re saying that I can just masturbate with imagination?

How would all of this affect my counter?

I would avoid your imagination....although that will be very difficult to do. Try to focus on how your body feels instead. This way, when you have sex with a woman in the future, she will be "new and fresh" in every way.

Notice I recommended doing 7 day challenges. Or 14 day? Let the counter go up until you reach your goal, then reset it. A huge number on the counter isn't the real goal. It's a healthy attitude and behavior about or sexual well being that is.

So even though I’ve excessively masturbated for 8 years, I can masturbate without any thoughts?

No one can answer all of your questions. We can only share our experiences and knowledge. From that, you alone must decide on your future path. I'm neither giving you permission nor admonishment......just a general guide.
