I have cold in the morning and a hot one at the end of the day, after work. I started straight on cold water, back in the summer though. I would say the cold water temp was anything up to 16 or 17 degrees then. As autumn and winter came it's cooled down of course, it's now probably about ten degrees Celsius. And flowing cold water also chills more so it is feeling pretty fresh right now! Yes you're right it's great to not need hot water for a shower. There's also other benefits beyond mindset, there's a lot written on them. Such as lowering blood pressure, increasing testosterone, and others I can't remember. To me they are secondary.
