Has anyone had to completely banish computers or internet from their home?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Difficult 2 Stop, Oct 10, 2018.

  1. Just wondering if anyone found that to win the battle they had to completely get rid of computers or internet access from their home? Maybe this would help me gain focus on doing other types of activities.

I have actually blocked the web browser app on my phone and access to the app store. Its sometimes inconvenient to not have it, but I'm pretty much used to it now and in the end I consider it a positive thing to have done.

But sometimes I wonder if I will have to get rid of or block access to all desktops and laptops at home? It is difficult because I often work at home, and would need access for that, and also because I share computers with other household members. But I could set passwords and not let myself on. And I could make myself go elsewhere to do work.

Of course, I have to also keep in mind that building strength of will is even more important than blocking access!

The demon that is the internet is still inside my home, I have to host a wifi router in my apartment for the person upstairs.

I have since also found myself removing everything I could connect to it with.

I will NOT be using the internet at home again. Not while I live alone at least. And when I do live with someone whom may request we have it there will a lengthy discussion and plan put in place.

Of course it is. It is the skeleton key so to speak that will completely end this vice.

However picture a heroin or meth user with a constant supply of drugs at home.

No matter how hard/bad they want/try to get clean, who on Earth is going to say to keep those drugs in the house?
