Hey guys!! I used to be more active here more than a year ago. Havent opened the site in more than year and so have no idea whats going on here.
While i was here before the main focus of nofap was simple: No p and no m for as long as you can. However there were two or three people who were taking it with another approach. I remember them rather than going cold turkey, they were instead changing the direction. Not sure on all the details but i remember one person saying they m'ed twice a week at first then one a week then once two weeks then a month and so on and he was telling that it was easier. Also one of them who was used to watching and m'bing to abusive fetish porn was sharing his experience about changing his m direction towards more natural sex (love and sex rather than abuse). So as i have come here after a long time i wanted to ask if any progress has been made towards identifying the best approach? What are your experiences?
*P.S. dont change your way at once by reading this. Once you m its very hard to resist for the number of days before you do it again.

  2. The approach has not changed, it depends on the individual. However, I see a lot more guys who have streaks longer than 90 day period, and they've felt and seen remarkable changes from abstaining from M for a longer period of time. 200+ days some 500+ days. It makes sense because for people who have been addicted for 10+ years you need a longer abstinence to get back to normal, for your brain to get back to it's original state. But no, the approach is all about how you want to abstain. For me I cant do what you said because I've been addicted for 15+ years. I have to stop altogether. I have committed to quit and so there is no timeline. Only until I feel free is when I know I did the right thing. You must decide the approach to take.

Fair enough. I agree with you. I have never had success with that approach too. I did try a few times but anytime i faped i couldnt hold on the next day or a few days. Its easier to control the urge the first time rather than time an again.
It would be nice if we actually had a well controlled scientific study with big funding.
Good luck to you buddy. Cheers!!

  4. I agree with you there. NoFap is not where it needs to be. Still a new phenomenon. I feel sad for the next generation who may only find out later rather than sooner. But that's another discussion to be had. Good luck dude. Wishing you the best.
