Hello NoFap community, Brian Wilson here. I'm a 38-year old male that lives in Sedona Arizona in the US. I'm a total NoFap newb and really glad to be a part of this.

To give you a little background on myself, I would definitely say that if there's such a thing as an "addictive personality" I've definitely got one. For example, today is day #30 of sobriety for me where I spent a large portion of my life as a cannabis addict. My Dad suggested I check out NA (Narcotics Anonymous) to which I've gone to 3 meetings now and think it's great. I plan to never use drugs or alcohol again for my entire life and I know that NA will help me achieve that goal.

Among my cannabis addiction is an addiction to pornography, masturbation, and orgasm, to which I've leared the acronoym PMO stands for. I've been using porn for many many years and I'm pretty sure it had something to do with my divorce which occurred slightly over 2 years ago. Like my cannabis addiction, my porn addiction was one of my many "skeletons in the closet" if you will. Even while I was married I would fap to porn several times per week if not once per day, and would have trouble being intimate with my ex-wife. I never discussed porn and/or masturbation with her because I was deeply-ashamed.

It sure feels like a GREAT start to be here and to be able to admit without shame or guilt that I am addicted to porn and masturbation! I know that I can overcome this addiction with NoFap and the NoFap community. I'm very grateful to have found NoFap and I'm grateful for each and every one of you that are actively choosing to make a difference in your lives and the lives of other's like myself with similar addictions.

Please feel free to reach out and say hello, I'd love to hear from you. I'm really looking forward to beginning my journey as a Fapstronaut today, September 2, 2018.

Oh, and I'm also looking for an accountability partner(s) so if anyone is interested I'd really appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Brian

Greetings, Brian. Smoking weed and porn are two pretty common habits of your average American... The good news is you see these things as harmful in some way or another, that's a good first step. Stick around and you'll meet a lot of supportive people... Cheers and good luck!

    Hi Brian,

Lots of Respect for sharing your story. I liked the honesty in it :). Trust me battle against Porn can be won. Its all mental game. You just got to have a strong strategy to win those urges. They give up pretty quick. See you around. Stay Stronger Brother \m/

Congrats and welcome to a new life my friend! I’m just past 3weeks on Nofap and i feel like I’ve been born again. Given a second chance. And it’s all bc of other brothers who were willing to tell their stories. Not withholding details but in honesty bringing to light what happened in the dark. And then realizing you were never the only one. Thanks for telling your story Brian.
Your life seems very much like mine. I’m 36, still married and was fapping for years. When I first discovered Nofap I was shocked how big the community was around the world. What helped me most was reading stories on these forums and watching videos that guys would put on YouTube. That is still my greatest source of motivation. Different ages, races, and stages of progress but all in it together.
You will find some negative comments out there like “where’s the science behind all this?”. I find science usually comes years later to confirm what we’ve all been seeing through experience. For example: you will attract more women. Is that bc of increased pheromones, testosterone, greater confidence, retained life from semen retention, placebo effect, etc? Who really knows? The fact is it really it does happen. You can read/watch thousands of guys say it happens to them. So ignore the negative and stay focused on your journey. I’m telling you life is great on Nofap.
Also realize that we got trapped in a fairly new phenomenon. What’s it been 20yrs since cellphones started appearing in everyone’s hands? Porn has never been so cheap and easily attainable. And when you hear the arguments that porn and masturbation are harmless and even healthy, I can’t help but laugh! This is our western arrogance. The eastern cultures have been teaching on the negatives of releasing your semen life for 5000yrs. We are just starting to learning this wisdom.
Keep us updated on your journey and what you’ve experienced.

Appreciate all the love and feedback from everyone so far! Feels great to be a part of this community and I think it's just the support I need to continue to stay away from PMO! Today is day #5 of NoFap for me and day #35 of sobriety for me and I'm really starting to feel like a new man! I've been waking up around 6am everyday and the first thing I do when I wake up is jump right into a pure cold shower. Between the sobriety and NoFap I'm starting to feel so much clearer and so much more comfortable socializing again. One of the best parts of it is rigorous HONESTY! I was full of fucking shit the majority of my life, denying that I had any addiction to cannabis, porn, masturbation, etc., keeping that shit buried deep inside which was killing me. It feels so incredibly empowering to come clean and admit that I'm an addict but I no longer have to continue these highly-destructive patterns with the support of this community as well as my NA community.

And btw, how can I get one of those nifty counters applied to my profile?
