It took a long time for me to finally join the nofap forum.
I'm a 23 yo from student from germany. (male)

I started with pmo at the age of 11. Since then i was never able to stop for longer then 2 weeks. At this age i never though that pmo could be a problem. But as it turns out, it was the start of many problems.

I always had problems with "dating" girls, even flirting is very hard for me.
But the worst problem in my youth was ED.
I missed many chances to get my first time s*x. This has driven me crazy, because i was the only virgin i know. I tried to not show my desperation.

Years passed by and my desperation about that grew bigger. I was jealous of my friends who got girlfriends and lost virginity. The sadness and the hatred grew.
I even quit friendships if i was to jealous or if they talked too much about certain topics. My selfvalue, selfesteem, selflove, etc. disappeared.

With that mindet, it was impossible to get closer to women. And so my addiction grew even bigger.
At the age of 20 i discovered the nofap community and learned that pmo is a source of my problems. I tried to do the 90 days a couple of times but always failed..
The harder it tried the deeper i fell. Last year it was so hard that i wanted to kill myself. I had no motivation to go on, i hated my life. I just wanted to end it, because i thought my life was already too messed up to better it.

Luckely i decided to visit a psychologist. It really helped me to build up my selfvalue, selflove, etc.. I partially stopped hating myself for pmo.

But my addiction is still very strong and dangerous. As you know, many drugs can build up tolerance so you need to get more for your next fix. The same thing happened to me with pmo. Sometimes i stay awake till 3am watching videos, sometimes i watch it the whole day instead of going to school.

But the worst thing is that the content i watch is slowly switching to critical material.
I fear that if I don't stop pmo know, my "taste" will become so gross that i have to face dramatic consequences.

Right now i am trying my best to stop pmo. I managed to block p content on my smartphone and laptop (friend of mine got the pw). But somehow i always find a way.
Even if i am motivated on one day, the next day i am not. I don't get the right mood to stop it.

    And that's why i'm here.
I have the hope, that if i'm active on this forum, my motivation and self-discipline will grow. And it would be an honor to share what i've learned on my journey.

Hi and welcome to the community

I would recommend you to stay in touch with members and read their success stories. You may also learn tricks to avoid the short-term pleasure and to face the temptations.

Be AWARE of your habits and control what you see and what/who you spend your time with.

It's also important to limit the usage of social media. In addition, never be free! Use your free time as much as possible and do sports, exercise, attend classes, etc.

This video contains everything that you need to know about porn addiction. Lastly, here is a collection of ways to deal with the urges which worked great for me.

I am practicing my German skills :) Members are willing to help, so don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it.

Das funktioniert ja schon mal ganz gut mit dem Deutsch lernen! :D
    vielen Dank für die Motivation.

PS: Besser wäre es zu sagen "Wenn es dir schlecht geht" anstatt "Wenn du schlecht bist"

  5. Hey welcome to the NoFap forum : )

It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

First let me go ahead and drop some helpful links for you:

Getting Started Guide / Forum Rules / How to Use the NoFap forums/ Glossary/ NoFap Panic button / Set up your day counter / Rebooting Resources/ About NoFap/ Support NoFap

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just advise you to be active on your profile(as there a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

Theres a portion of people who love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal. Make sure and be grateful for the help you received and give some help after receiving some. Invest in some people's journeys. We could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal/log (in the appropriate section for you) and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
