    Hi all,

I first encountered porn as a five year old boy. My neighbor friend had some of his dad's magazines. Around twelve or so another neighbor friend found his dad's magazines. In my mid teens I was exposed to my friend's dad's videos. In college I bought magazines and videos. After college the internet was growing and I found lots of porn on it. As my addition to pornography and masturbation went on I needed to look at more fetish stuff to arouse me.

I think my addiction is in part due to a difficult childhood. I sought porn and masturbation as a relief from stress. But it is causing far more stress for me. I see the addiction and am ashamed. The shame drives me to seek the debasing release of porn and masturbation which only drags me down further. It's a vicious cycle.

I've been putting forth an effort to stop since February. I have had some success but keep relapsing. The last two weeks my stress and anxiety have skyrocketed and have made life in general tough. I'm hoping joining NoFap will help me to conquer this addiction and regain my life.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

    How is your progress today?

Thanks for the welcome. I've been doing well. I haven't had any strong urges yet. I have had ups and downs in terms of my mood and anxiety. But I haven't let that give me an excuse to PMO.

My strategies are to maintain custody of the eyes, stop any impure thoughts when I become aware, pray, walk and workout, meditate, spend less time on the internet, remind myself how poisonous PMO is, and think about how life will be when I'm PMO free.

    Welcome to NoFap!
You're among fellows here dealing with similar problems and situations to yours. I hope you can find the help you need to quit PMO and to better your life here. A good thing to do may be to read the journals of fellow nofappers and to try to learn as much as you can from what they have shared here.
May the Lord Bless you and guide your steps and help you to overcome these things that are holding you back in life.
