I've been on the NoFap forum for quite a while now but haven't posted on any thread. So I thought I'll start on this introduction thread.

I'm 27 years old and am on a journey of self-improvement. I became hooked on to PMO in my teens and early twenties. So I made attempts to abstain from it a few years ago have been successful in patches (3-6 months at a time). However, I let my guard down and feel that I have lost a bit of control recently. Now I want to ensure that I undergo a proper reboot process (at least 90 days). Hence, I am starting the process again.

  2. @TheDarkKnight ,

Welcome. Thanks for coming out of the shadows. Three to six months at a time is an accomplishment. pmo is the enemy.

For me, eventually, I'd like to reintroduce masturbation into my life. I have a real life sex partner. But, pmo has left me with PIED. I, like NoFap, believe in the restoration of a sex-positive and healthy porn free life.

I think science tells me that masturbation is normal and even healthy. What ruined my brain and body was the constant bombardment of porn images.

So, for now, it's one day at a time with no pmo for me.

Glad you are now on the forums, looking forward to seeing you around and reading your posts,

Thank you for the encouragement, StopTheMusic. Glad to hear from you!

I have recovered from PIED through my previous efforts. And I did try MO without P but somehow P started coming into my life again. I guess we're all wired differently. I wouldn't want to discuss this in detail at this stage. Right now I have decided to go into no PMO mode again and am targeting 90 days. And I enjoyed the process in the latter stages when I attempted it last time. Let's see what happens this time. All the best to you too and I hope you achieve your goals!

This might sound silly but right now I am confused about which thread I should join. Like should I join some "n-days/theme-based challenge" thread or should I join a group based on some community? Or shall I start my own reboot log? There seems to be a plethora of options on this forum! :emoji_nerd:

  5. @TheDarkKnight ,

It's not a silly question this website has many different ways to communicate on it.

    I would recommend doing this:

    1. When you log onto NoFap.com and click "The Forums" on the next page is a link that says "New Posts". It's on the blue line at the top of the page. That shows all the new posts since your last visit. I like it because it consolidates all the different forums together. Make sure you check which forum the post was in before you reply. Share your experience, strength and hope.

    2. You'll find people whose posts you like. Click there name on the left side of their posts. It takes a second or two and a box pops up. You can "follow" them. Also, you can write something on there profile letting them know you like what they have said. It's a great way to make friends on here.

    3. Journal in the age section. I don't know why the journals are broken down by age, but they are. You can start a new thread for every entry or just add to your older one.

    4. For specific problems post in the forum section for that issue. Like sexual dysfunctions or rebooting. Ask for peoples experience with the same problem.

    5. There are lots of groups for various people from secular to religious, straight, gay, male, female. If it's appropriate join a group.

    6. Something I like to do is say hello to the new members. I do this both from the introduction page and by leaving a note on their profile. It keeps me on the NoFap site and not on other sites.

Hope that helped. I know there is much more on here than just that, but it's how I navigate around the site.
