Hey guys. Insomnia is really killing me. I feel like shit every night. Even if I wake up 6 in the morning, I still can not sleep at night...
I think it is the direct side effect caused by PMO. Does anyone have information about it and why this happens and how to fix it? appreciate a lot.

I really don’t know why it happens other than it has something do with the balancing of dopamine in the brain. I’ve had it for quite a number of years, which is why my sleeping schedule is so messed up. All I’ve seen from other forum members in regards to how to get over it is time. You need to give your body and mind time to heal from the PMO abuse you’ve done to yourself over the years and allow your mind to fully reboot. Often it seem during the reboot process the insomnia either greatly reduces or goes away completely. Keep pushing on ahead man, the night is darkest just before the dawn.

Thanks for your comment my friend. So you believe that it is because of dopamine imbalance caused by PMO?
Is dopamine related to sleep cycle control? I've heard about serotonin role in sleep cycle control but never heard of dopamine.
Anyway, it seems rational. Because our dopamine receptors are damaged because of PMO. Do u also have this issue?

Personally I think it goes hand in hand. There’s been studies that point to more than just dopamine being affected by constant fapping. So I wouldn’t be surprised if serotonin is playing as significant role in this as well. I’ve been experiencing these symptoms for the past five years or so. It’s been extremely difficult for me to maintain a normal sleeping schedule due to an inability to fall asleep at night. Usually I can’t get to sleep until well into the morning and end up sleeping in until noon or later. It’s a real problem but I did notice on my previous long streak I was able to get a handle on it. Alas, after relapsing it went to shit again. This time I aim to nip this issue permanently by being completely successful with my reboot this time. No excuses.

These neurotransmitters and brain chemicals are really complicated. I think even doctors make mistakes in their diagnoses sometimes. About dopamine, I read somewhere that this insomnia thing is caused by the damage of the dopamine receptors in the brain. and the receptors damage are caused by high dopamine spikes which are caused by different addictions like PMO, Meth, etc. I think we'll have this problem until our dopamine receptors get fixed. I don't know how we can make its recovery faster!

I don’t know either, but I’m considering trying out cold showers to see if it has a noticeable affect on my sleep. I’ve heard that it can accelerate the recovery of dopamine receptors in the brain and help with the reboot process. I’ve just been a little hesitant so far because I’ve been experiencing other physical symptoms that are mimicking immune deficiencies (I’m assuming they’re all withdrawal symptoms from abstinence) and someone I came across said that cold showers can potentially cause you to temporarily get sick if your body isn’t used to them. I may wait until some of these other symptoms lessen first before I tackle the cold showers...
