  1. Nothing will help, unless you do. Religious people, or non-religious ones, doesn't matter. Change comes from within a man's heart and soul. So commit to "CAN", Constant And Never-ending improvement, and you will find sustainable happiness and contentment from life.

Best post I've seen on the site. Before when I was in SAA I accumlated a bunch of time without porn and masturbation and felt dogmatic and nonsensical. Because of the secular nature of this site I'm much more comfortable.

The addiction model itself is often a limiting belief system in that if I attribute my continuation of the behavior to anything but personal responsibility there's very little hope of 'recovery'. AA gave alcoholics the disease concept, and maybe the difference for that was that they really couldn't stop without an exceptional religious experience. But even then in the case of alcoholic relapse, who get's the blame for failure?

I guarantee those episodes of blankness will dissipate or at least weaken if you get on a long enough streak. It’s very hard to get out of an addiction if your motivation or goal isn’t stronger than the urge. So why do you want to quit ? It has to be strong.
