Help with NoFap and Post Nut Clarity

New Fapstronaut
Hello. I have attempted NoFap hard mode many times before however one factor always makes me fail: post nut clairty. For example, when I ma undergoing NoFap, I will be very horny and as a result, message girls who I am friends with and I get flirty. People may see this as no problem however it can lead to that friend having feelings for me when in reality, I was too horny to have any self control and a clear mind. As a result, I will fail NoFap in order to gain the feeling of post nut clarity and to reconsider everything that I have done while upon NoFap. In addition to this, Post Nut clarity is a tool I use to help me realise when I am in a situation only because I am horny. I really want to go the full 90 days but post nut clarity helps me a lot!!! If I don't fap, I will feel bedlocked for the first 2 weeks and as a result, message girls sexually as a result of projecting my sexual urges. Post nut helps me stop this from going further than it should and gets me out of the situation that could end very badly. Successful members of NoFap, how can i overcome this problem and become my true self and escape from this porn addiciton. Has anyone else found a replacement for post nut clarity? Thank you.

Welcome to the site. I am one of the more blunt and preachy members, so please don't let my rant discourage you.

I'm actually glad you've brought up the topic of post-nut clarity. It is a very interesting subject. Here are my thoughts:

Post nut clarity is a convenient and deceptive bargaining chip used to make excuses for problematic amounts of masturbation. Does jerking off make you think more rationally for a short time? Sure, because you aren't horny for a little bit. But men will always have a strong sex drive, and learning to control it forever is way more effective than feeding it once or twice a day. And I will let you in on a secret: NoFap clarity (the clarity you get after completely rebooting from PMO) is far greater than post-nut clarity and doesn't require you to be a slave to your own self-destructive habits. Rather, it is the result of hard work, impulse control, and self-liberation. My friends use the argument of post-nut clarity to make a case for avoiding NoFap, but I know that they just feel like it is too hard to quit. I understand this completely. The truth is, in order to achieve post-nut clarity, you need to masturbate. And it only lasts a few hours to a day. Then you have to do it again. This inevitably leads to a compulsive type of behavior which is damaging to many people.

It sounds like you have trouble controlling your urges once they begin to set in, and you make excuses to relapse, telling yourself that it will ease your mind afterwards and you will be able to think clearly. Even if this is true, you are forming a dependence relationship so that you rely on porn and masturbation in order to feel normal. But this is not normal or healthy at all! You say that you are addicted to porn, and fapping only reinforces this mindset - it does not free you from sexual thoughts because the sexual thoughts will come back. If you do not train yourself to withstand the urges, then the urges will always control you. You can start by dismissing the idea that you need porn and masturbation in order to function normally and think clearly.

I am not anti-porn or anti-masturbation, but I encourage you to find motivation to abstain from PMO. You can make 90 days. I have made 90 days and I plan to do it again. I have experienced what I call NoFap clarity. It was the most incredible feeling I've experienced in a long time. I felt so confident, so disciplined and so energetic. I saw people as people, and didn't let my urges control me. I still got horny but I didn't go crawling into my room to jerk off at the slightest inclination. I used that drive to accomplish more important things in life. You can do this if you desire it, so I wish you luck. Motivate yourself, because this is all for you.

Wow man. Thank you very much! I have never thought of post-nut clarity in such a way before and you have really changed my opinion on what I said before. I also appreciate the indepth answer. You have convinced me to try the full 90 days as now I have no reason for relapsing. I will have to try and also go on a social media break for the first couple of weeks but if NoFap clarity as good as you say it is, it will all be worth it. I really do appreciate the response and 'blunt answer' was exactly what I need. Many thanks once again.

No problem man. I agree that leaving social media will help you focus on this goal, because frankly there are a lot of triggers out there. I've never had social media accounts but I think they would definitely tempt me to relapse. Since you are just starting out on this site, I recommend reading some of the posts in the Success Stories forum. You will find a lot of helpful advice and you will get to see how NoFap has helped people in massive ways. I swear, having the freedom to live without being controlled by urges is one of the best feelings ever.

That's the main problem, messaging girls sexually or thinking about sexually is a trigger and is bad for your Nofap recovery. You need to cut off all sexual thoughts at the roots itself, if you get them, divert them. So you wouldn't have this brain fog which leads to relapse to get that "post nut clarity". Infact after 21 days of Nofap you wouldn't have this brain fog anymore, you have more clarity in thoughts. So be strong and continue your journey.

Yes, systematically removing triggers is a good idea. If you are serious about this, delete your porn accounts and downloads, if you have any.
