I just relapsed today... Please give me tips and motivation? This is not easy :(

  2. Relapse is part of the growth process. Just don't let it weigh you down. Engage in other things and God willing you shall be fine. We're in this together.

It is important you use this relapse as productively as possible.

    What were your triggers?
How do you prevent those triggers in the future?
How do you feel post relapse?

Write all these things down when your future self gets tempted. I hope you find your way to recovery.

Thank you guys! I try but I relapse quickly.... I get tempted to look at porn ad do it. I try to say no but it does not work! Do you take cold showers or anything else to prevent this? What else should I try? I have a goal of six days.... What should my next goal be after I'm done and is this good enough?

Stop relying on motivation to do this. Start creating new habits in your life, things that will enable you to spend more time away from the computer. Motivation is bullshit.

I agree. Motivation will always fail you in the end. I don't know if you've heard of the term "white-Knuckle Change," but it's explained like this: If two guys hang from a bar and see who can hold on the longest, one will win but eventually the winner will have to let go. Just using motivation and trying not to PMO is like white-knuckle change. We will last for a time but eventually our motivation wears out and we fail. Our brains crave porn so we have to protect ourselves from our own cravings by getting rid of access, at least until our brains start to heal from our porn addictions, even if this means we have to get rid of the luxury of having the internet at our finger tips whenever we want. Porn is always the result of a deeper issue in our lives so while you try to stay away from porn you should also be on the path of self-discovery, searching hard for what you are using porn to cover up. Understanding on porn affects the brain is very important and there are a lot of resources out there you can check out. Two books that are great are "Pure Eyes" and "Wired for Intimacy." I hope this helps.

I agree on all the above advice, but I will quietly say..please do yourself a favor and install k9 and start connecting with yourself more by living out your dreams. Don't be hard on yourself. I relapsed after 55 days and I hated myself for giving in. The more you do this the worse it gets and a bunch of feelings creep in. Also go take a cold shower bc this helps calm the nerves and may prevent a future relapse.

I would hit the gym as well. Your brain is craving dopamine and when you set it off with a relapse you are only giving in and giving your brain what it desires. Replace that dopamine need with something more productive like lifting weights.

Two questions...... One, I do have k9 on my iPod but I can still access porn sites... Trust me! So what should I do? And, will cold showers actually help.... They will feel uncomfortable, has anyone tried it and and how does it work?

Hey, I'd say honestly that K9 on your ipod doesn't do you much good, as I've had it to and for a while. Though it does help as it takes more of a conscious effort to look for triggers knowing you can avoid them with K9.
Also: Cold showers... Yes they can be uncomfortable, but I've found that after a month of cold showers they are just amazing. Here's the trick for cold showers, psych yourself up beforehand, play some music, and jump in that shower like you're gonna beat that water up! But I'm serious. Just get the shower done quick and wash every part as fast as possible. Trust me though, when it's over it is totally worth it. You feel great and it wakes you up and removes urges. Last thing is: It gets easier to take cold showers over time, but it will always be a bit uncomfortable, which is why it's a great test of will that will help you in your nofap journey as well. Truly hope you consider cold showers, and remember to be strong!
