here i am... after 13 years of fappage

I can't express how happy I am to have discovered this community. I hope that participating in this challenge and this community will help me become the best man I can be.

Like most people, I imagine, I started fappin' away in middle school, and haven't really stopped since. I'm kind of blown away at the amount of internet porn out there - there is SO MUCH - enough to watch a collection of different videos every few days or even every day for at least 13 years - and perhaps a lifetime, I don't know. When you're a kid and you feel invincible, it doesn't phase you that what you are doing is unnatural and no generation of people have ever done before. We are the first generation of people who grew up with essentially infinite and immediate porn. It's crazy.

Everything started out fine. But over time, I developed erectile dysfunction problems and emotional intimacy problems, and started losing relationships for complex reasons that all boil down to one thing: because I couldn't stop masturbating to porn.

But fapping doesn't just get in the way of relationships - it also gets in the way of things like ambition, athleticism, and general desire. It satisfies the mind and body for a short term, making long term goals less important, stealing energy that would otherwise go into self-improvement or questing for more meaningful satisfaction. I've realized all these things, yet still my addiction persists.

I am so excited and optimistic to be a part of this forum. My NoFap challenge began 3 days ago. I'm starting with a 90 day commitment, and look, I'm already down to 87. Thank-you to all of you for paving a way for recovery!
