Hello. I just joined Nofap today. I started my rebooting on August 24th, so today is my third day. My goal is to stop, or at least cut down immensely, masturbating. I am excited to see how far I can get, and also to connect with like minded people like you guys.

I started masturbating when I was 12. Now, I'm in college. Ever since then, I would usually do it once a day, and sometimes would skip a few days, but usually no more than three days. The longest I have ever went without fapping was nine days, because back when I was 14, I was on vacation and was rooming with four other people.

Fortunately, fapping is the only thing I'm really addicted to. I was never a porn addict, nor was I ever addicted to alcohol, drugs, smoking, and video games. I recently ended a caffeine addiction.

There are a couple reasons why I decided to start the rebooting process. First of all, I am into spirituality and try to live a healthy and spiritual life. I'm not trying to be a celibate, but I have read a lot about the cons of masturbating and the pros of seminal retention, ideas that most of you guys are familiar with by being on this site.

Second, I've never had a love life nor have I had much experience with women. I believe the main reason is because since I've been fapping for a while, my testosterone could be low, which could explain why I don't have much confidence. I would like to reverse this.

Finally, the last reason is the one that really motivated me to start this reboot and join this website. I don't have social anxiety in the sense of talking to people/strangers face-to-face, but I do have something else that really sucks: shy bladder. I've had it since I was 14, and thought it would go away naturally. It didn't. So recently, I told myself that I have to get rid of it now. Then I thought, what if fapping is causing this? So I did a quick search and found people on the NoFap subreddit that claimed that stopping masturbation for a long period of time helped them conquer shy bladder and frequent urination (which I also have, to an extent). This makes sense because shy bladder is a form of social anxiety, and social anxiety stems from a lack of confidence. Therefore, it makes sense to me that the rebooting process could, over time, help this problem. Would you guys agree? Does anyone have similar experiences or tips?

So yeah, that's my story. I look forward to continuing my rebooting and connecting with you guys. Thanks for reading!

  4. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal, we could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
