Hi I'm a 32 year old homosexual male and I stumbled upon nofap because of a conversation in a gamer chat. I thought it was a joke at first then I looked into it and realised that not only is it real, but might actually be beneficial to me.
I'm not currently in a relationship and I don't have any interest in one. My last relationship made me feel very insecure about my sexuality and was psycho/emotionally abusive and I fell into preferring porn over real sex despite wanting it.
I tend to deal with a lot of social anxiety, depression, lethargy and low self-esteem lately. I have a habit of looking up gay and straightr porn or endlessly scrolling through Tumblr for erotic cartoons. I even impulsively add people Instagram because I find them attractive or they post sexy pics. I masturbate a couple times a week, but may go for a week without then fall into a spell of going at it daily.
So far I don't know of any other homosexual men that practice NoFap. Mainstream gay culture it flooded with oversexualized media and interaction and the idea of NoFap is completely foreign, but I think that it could really help a lot of gay men see past what is "expected".
I hope this journey can help me learn more about myself and maybe give me more control and clarity in my life.

Hi friend it’s such a blessing to have you here. Recovery is not just about abstinence, it’s about changing your life. Add healthy habits such as meditation (check out the app headspace it’s free), exercise, eating healthy, reading self help books, journaling, hiking, spirituality etc to replace pmo (porn masturbation orgasm). Also I can send you some martial that will help you lots via email if you like? Love you and God bless you. Good luck! :)

  3. Hi @elixirrabbit , welcome to NoFap
Actually there is a group for gay members and one for bisexual members in this site, you can find them in Groups, on the black horizontal band above
You will be surprised how many guys with SSA have this addiction. In my case I am bisexual, and there is many of us around here. We trend to hide our sexual orientation conflicts behind the PMO addiction, plus as you say, the gay culture is totally obersexualized and focus in the perfect body and coitus :-(

It is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.
To get more focus and feel happier with life I recommend you to start doing meditation.. I have been using an App called Headspace for the last two months which is great if you have never meditated before. The first 10 sessions are free if you want to give a try. I used to feel a bit depressed or feeling without energy to start new projects in my life, and meditation has helped me a lot with this.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take the NoFap Academy course if you can afford it. The course is great but the best value are the weekly video calls with @alexander (the creator of NoFap and NoFap Academy) and Mark Queppet, where you can chat with them in real life and listen to other guys's stories and problems too.

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.
    Let's keep on fighting

  5. Congratulations on talking this step. I am on day 91 and it hasn't been easy but it is worth the journey. I have struggled with an addiction to gay porn for several decades. I put Covenant Eyes on my devices so while I could still watch it, my accountability partner gets my reports. It's worth. Feel free to pm with any of your questions. We are all in this thing together.

Right here Bro! I started Nofap 18 days ago and I kinda have the same problem with my past relationship beside been addicted to porn and even making my own homemade porn videos and downloading them to my pages in different websites because I was really deep in porn sex and in a long broken open relationship that we “use” the “open relationship “ thing to stay together but it wasn’t worth it cuz was more deep down inside that make things worst then what all my friends knew about it ...welcome to the forum and if u for any chance read a little about my story in my journal ,maybe we can help each other out ..peace bro and good luck
