How do I deal with this?

    So I've been "friends" with this guy for 5 years almost
    Now the first 4 years were shit with this guy I didn't like him at all but somehow he still considers me a friend (he is an asshole, inconsiderate piece of shit)

    This year he changed a bit but still has that asshole vibe to him and i feel uncomfortable being with him

    He texts me everyday to "check how i was doing" but i ignore his texts (I've been ignoring him for 2 weeks)

    How do i go about this?
    I wanna tell him i don't wanna hang out with you in a respectful manner.
