How do I stay away from my phone

If I had it my way I would never own one, however I am in the military and having one seems to be essential sadly, how can I keep away from my phone when my chain of command acts like you need it 24/7.

Second the suggestion above, I think keeping it out of the bedroom is important and a good start. You should also delete any apps that are triggers for you (Chrome, Safari, Reddit, etc).

Mate, get an old school "dumb" phone. You can make and receive calls and messages, but you can't really surf the internet.

Tarde o Temprano debemos lograr, usar el móvil, si temor ... al P. El tv, la web, No son culpables de lo q hacemos con ellas, Será duro... A friend of mine has a modern military grade “dumb phone”. Text, talk, maps, water proof, drop proof, but no internet. Anyone who wants to live without a smartphone but wants to stay connected to friends absolutely can.

Something I've tried and which works relatively well is to put the screen colors to black and white. It decrease the screen stimuli and thuse the dopamine created by the brain from it considerably. You would get bored and not wanting to look at it anymore.
