I m'd on a regular basis from the age of 12 or 13 until I was 37. I don't think it caused me any obvious problems. I mean there was secrecy and guilt but apart from that it was just something I would do without it causing me problems. Is it possible to M in moderation without becoming an addict?

  2. Sure you can M in moderation. As to being addicted:

Have you tried to stop but are unable to?

You want to stop doing it and you can't stop.

I don't think there's anything wrong necessarily with masturbation. It's normal. Sex is normal. Exploring your sexuality in private is normal. It's fine conceptually.

The problem is when people can't stop, which is the case with the folks in NoFap. Try not looking at porn and/or masturbating for like a week and see what happens. If you cannot go a few days without PMO, you're an addict.
