I believe you’re taking this out of context. Christ isn’t literally telling people to pluck out their eyeballs. He’s making a point that you are to remove things which are an immediate occasion of sin; no matter how dear or necessary they are to you. This is why He uses your eyes as means to drive the message home, because all of us have an attachment to our eyes and all of us deem them necessary. Yet in the light of eternity He’s trying to stress the importance of how even more important it is to never sin and that the loss of your sight would be a better thing than for you to greviously sin again.

Yet how many of us won’t give up lesser thing than an eye in order to never repeat a bad behavior? Some of us wont give up a site; a certain friendship; or even a smartphone, because we deem them too important or necessary.

 

Maybe he is but no one understood him. Either way you won't be able to look at girls butts if you tear your eyes out. Lol!

My brother in war I thought about you and this post at work. A female customer service agent helped me out and she has an amazing body including posterior. I didn’t want to lust so I walked along side her and talked to her. It’s a real temptation to lust and fantasize, I’m not going to pretend I’m a saint, I struggle all the time. But we have power to practice self-control and I was concentrating on practicing it.

I really loved your idea which seems pretty much radical. We all know that it is hard stop looking. In addition to that, you see nowadays even they most powerful people in the world get accused of sexual abuse toward women.

 

In my situation how do you want me apply the quote to solve my sin ? Isolating myself from the world in a dark room for example.

 

I'm 234 years old now, so I think a middle-aged man should act with a little more control and dignity. I keep seeing men of even 60 ogling teen girls and I just think they can do better.
