How Long Are Urges Supposed to Last?

When I started trying to quit porn about four years ago, urges lasted a relatively short period of time (no more than 20 minutes), but now, they last way longer. Is this normal? I've seen so many people claim that an urge can't last longer than 10 minutes. However, my urges go for several hours and least. They may stretch over several days. I literally always desire porn and masturbation (mostly the latter). It's not a thought in the back of my head, but I physically feel almost possessed, I want to do it so bad.

I think it depends on the person, to be honest. For me, building up a disgust of degeneracy helped a lot with urges. Listening to hymns also put my mind into a "higher state" so that baser desires seem so small, albeit, still repulsive.

I've heard so many times that the brain never actually recovers from pmo addiction, but I guess I have to accept it and deal with it. Thanks for the advice!
