How long does it take in average on semen retention mood for someone who's 30 started masturbation since puberty to heal?
To get a good posture back, clear mind, full energy, and ultimate sexual performance.

90 days is a good starting place

3-6 months but it all depends on the person.

  4. One whole year which will basically almost make you forget about PMO.

The older the dick the longer the recovery time.

Actually, it's a little more complicated. People who were younger and had high speed internet at a younger age usually have more trouble than those of us who had dial up internet at a young age because the brain is more plastic at a young age. The more plastic the brain is, the more effect P has on it at a young age. But, as you say, if you are really old and you've been PMOing for many many years, the longer you do it the harder it is. I would guess that in general if you're in your 30s it shouldn't be too bad, 20s and younger will be more difficult. If you're in your mid 40s and higher and been PMOing since teenage years, it may be more difficult with increasing age.

The trend I have been seeing on the forums for nearly 2 years is: The younger people have a harder time quitting at the start, but it gets easier and easier with time and they rarely relapse passed 90 days.

Older people have an easier time at the Start. In the middle their withdrawals are multiple times stronger than the younger people's. At the end it starts to easier, although since they usually have been in the habit for 5+ years, they may relapse at any time.

I notice older people like myself (I’m 41) have longer flatlines. It took me a good 6 month reboot to get a solid erection the first go around. I relapsed now need another one most likely longer. I really can’t PMO at all if I want to have good actual sex. It’s really that simple.

I read in this forum the rule of thumb is 2 months of reboot for every single year on PMO. I am 38 years and almost 22 years on PMO (Mayever bit lesser) So I need to be nofap for 44 months

Everyone is different. I think two factors play the biggest roles. One of them you have control over; the other you do not.

You have no control over your history with PMO. And that history plays a big part in your brain chemistry: how long, how frequent, etc. I would focus less on your history and more on your future. That’s the part you have control over.

I’m 36m, started PMOing daily at around age 13/14. Started having DE issues as soon as I was active with partners and ED issues beginning in my mid 20’s. By my early 30’s an erection that lasted two full minutes with a partner was a rare occasion. By that time, it was also difficult for me to even stay hard with P. So I’d say I’m a good example of a pretty severe case. Especially as it applies to ED. And I knew what was causing it, but was too deep in the addiction to face it and fix it.

Fast forward a bit and I can now tell you from experience, nofap works. Just a couple nights ago, my partner and I had such a long session, that she eventually called it and begged me to finish. It’s amazing to know I can sustain long enough to satisfy her.

What made the biggest difference for me was realizing how many things were tied into my addiction, and giving them all up. I gave up weed, caffeine, sugar, IG, FB(except for business use and messenger), video games, as well as P and M. For the first 100 days, I also gave up O. I actually avoided anything of a sexual nature. This was tough since I am in a long term relationship. Fortunately, my partner was supportive.

Anyway, I had a couple flatlines and a few hyper-sexual phases. But all along I stayed focused on the goal. To take responsibility for my own sexual health and wellbeing.

    My advice:
    1) Be brutally honest with yourself. You won’t get better until you can completely face your issues.
    2) Find healthy ways to spend the time you used to spend on PMO. Exercise, meditation, education, build a business, whatever. Don’t just stop PMO, replace it.
    3) Focus on your overall health and wellness. Eat well, get exercise, socialize regularly, stay hydrated.
    4) Be patient. This process isn’t a quick fix. I’m 200+ days in and I still have tough days. Stay focused and be forgiving to yourself if you have a stumble. Guilt and shame won’t heal you, time will.
    5) Stay connected. Whether that’s here, or with your social group, family, etc. Stay in touch with people.

I apologize for rambling. This post kind of got away from me. I hope it’s helpful to you.

TL;DR every one is different, your recovery will be unique to you.

    Guys
Thanks a lot for ur responses. They really help. I relapsed 4 times in the first 60 something days. I wish I can get over that forever. 7 years ago when I was 23 I abstained for 5 months on monk mood n when I relapsed I was soo down n I was about to suicide. Since then, I forgot about trying to heal but now I won’t get in that trap again. I’ll be trying hard it’s the challenge of my life

  13. I think 1+ year, if you were into some fetish 1,5 year+ without relapses. Do everythin to prevent relapses, because that way you may make your withdrawal symptoms worse.

One year plus to heal from porn addiction or masturbation? I don’t think I’m heavy in watching porn. And what signs from which I can notice that I healed? How can I make sure that I’m in the ultimate version of me after getting over all that?

It's been a long time since you have beeen musturbation. The brain have made its path way. Talking about energy and posture, that you surely get after couple of weeks or a month but for a clear mind and ultimate sexual performance your brain need time to heal , brain needs to destroy the current path and set new connection . This is often called neuroplasticity . To fully recover from effects of musturbation,I think your needs hell lots of time may be 6 months or year.

Your dick is the ultimate way you know you are healing. If it’s harder, stronger, straighter, and you can have prolonged erections and forceful ejaculations during sex without the need the need for porn to stimulate you that’s when you know you are healed. That takes time.

Maybe you should get medical help for the suicide issue. Some medication could take care of that.

I am a big fan of "rules of thumb". I think that even they are at least SOMEWHAT close to reasonable, they provide a great tool. Since we are all different, a simple rule of thumb like N M posted are very helpful. For me, I've been masturbating for at least 30 years.....and used porn for 15 of them. Thus at an absolute minimum I'm 15 X 2 = 30 months......Round that up a bit to account for the earlier 15 years without porn.....I am looking at about three years. And that makes intuitive sense. It took me nearly that long to permanently reduce my alcohol intake to where my "habit" is very moderate now.

You'll be cured in exactly 117 days, 5 hours, 22 minutes, and 37 seconds. Better mark your calendar.
