It's my first post here and I aim to keep it simple. I've been going through this rough patch in my life since I'm 18 ("who isn't?") and it's gotten really bad recently...

    I:
    - Smoke heavily
    - Eat a lot(!) and badly
    - Don't exercise
    - Don't know my limits with alcohol
    - PMO absolutely all the time, and last a whopping 30 seconds each time
    - Lost most of my friends in the past couple of years
    - Have had only one serious GF in the past 10 years
    - Totally underachieved academically, although miraculously ended up at a great company

So today I have decided to make some changes. And how would I ever succeed if it weren't for Mr. Accountable knocking at my door?

    I intend to:
    - Quit smoking
    - Undergo a serious NoFap recovery program
    - Start exercising
    - Develop myself by reading more and learning the things that matter

This is no simple task. It really isn't. And it definitely isn't a joke either. But guess what? I believe I can change. I've tried a lot of times before, and failed, but this time it counts.

Let the games begin! I will be posting regularly with observations, results, inspirations, and frustrations... Hope you enjoy the ride ;)

Thanks! Day 1 was quite the roller-coaster... I am working from home this week which means that I obviously have a lot of free time, which in turn is very dangerous at this phase.

Needless to say that I was hugely aroused the whole day. I couldn't get 10 consecutive minutes without feeling "it".

That said, I left WhatsApp groups in which people posted indiscriminate pictures and GIFs which got me all triggered.

And plus I bought a bench to create an improvised gym at home, and did biceps, chest and shoulder.

Ah and I didn't smoke, which is kinda cool, although I am naturally eating way more than I should to compensate...

That sounds very ambitious. Though you can rearrange it into only 2 main activities:
    - NoFap (with exercise and reading, learning youtube videos & podcasts as secondary activities to help burn energy & fill the PMO void)
    - Quit smoking

I would worry about starting both at the same time. A relapse could feel like double failure.

Maybe better to start one and then the other, eg target to quit smoking at day 30 of NoFap.

On the first part you're absolutely right - exercising and reading fall under the wider category of the NoFap, which I see more of a lifestyle choice rather than (the lack of) a physical activity

That said, quitting smoking is as important right now due to health issues which have been accumulating recently. I actually underwent a rather complicated surgery last year after which the doc seriously recommended I quit smoking, but obviously at the time the remarks just flew past by me....

So update: Day 2 was great. I was full of energy the whole day, and did some exercise whenever I could find the time. Temptation is still definitely there - and it's staggering how I MO'd every single day (no exceptions) in the past 5 or 6 years - but today I felt under control of my urges. TBC!

  6. Sounds awesome, man! Careful not to burn yourself out, though. I know for me, since I'm such a perfectionist, I always try to be super productive in every way possible, all the time, and then when I fail at one thing, I often just crash and burn and let it all go because I've exhausted myself. Not everyone is like me, of course, but just saying, it's good to remember that you're human and you're allowed mistakes here and there. Overall progress is still a great thing, even if you fail here and there along the way.

The fuck are you doing, dont even try, you wont make it, just cave in and release all your stress, just dont think about your future now do that later - Is what the back of your mind will want to tell you all the time. If you can get past that pesky piece of shit mindset thats all ways waiting to let itself loose you will see nothing but success. Stick to it and all ways think about the bright future ahead of you when you finally are that changed man that you will be.

Be sure to check the page RMRS and Alpha M on YouTube for great personal development. All the best. I had a change in my entire lifestyle after those 2 channels. I even found nofap because of those channels and now it has been almost 2 months since i have been without porn and masturbation

    Be sure
