How many attempts did it take you guys?

Hey all been on nofap since mid March. Pretty addicted to P and especially certain fetishes.

My streaks have been short and I was wondering how long it took you guys to start the big one?

So far mine have been roughly in days... 6,3,6,7,6,4,3,3,5

Each time I relapsed I have been trying to learn something and not do it again. Also each time I recognise things I couldn't have the first attempt. My aim is 30 days.

I will say just by lowering the frequency of my PMO (before 2 times a day) I have reduced my interest in my weird fetishes and enjoy vanilla porn again (more or less)

That's good to hear, but surely the goal is no porn?

I love this, I'm convinced that this 'growth mindset' will bring you through to success.

So many! I started trying to quit near the end of 2010 and my current streak started in October 2016. During those six years of relapsing I did manage some long streaks (one of 22 months) but I always fell back into compulsive porn use.

Good luck finding all the right pieces to make this work for you.

Yeah the goal is no porn ultimately. But frankly I'm just happy to see some small progress.

I totally agree about the learning thing. Essentially I am now realising the earlier you shut off P thoughts the quicker they go. Also not to constantly fight them just ignore them. But yeah I still have a long way to go. Given boredom was a massive factor in my PMO historically I think its harder than normal now with the lockdown to succeed.

Took me too many accepts, until I realized that's the problem was in me and then I started to read books and destroy my thinking of "Im perfect I don't need to change" to "Im never going to be the best version of myself, but I will always try to be little better than before."

Damn! I've been trying to quit for the past 2 years and was feeling horrible about it.
Never managed to go above 15-16 days. I'm curious about knowing how this nofap practice has affected the career aspect of your life.

I have been trying since summer 2019.
My longest streak was 43 days. Mostly i reach around 20. My Problem is that i always forget how horrible relapsing feels. My current streak is 4 days now

You have to try it many times! I mean I'm here since 2018 and my longest Streak was 63 Days so far.
My tips:
Intermittent fasting or fasting in general
Join a challenge and stick to it! Post daily and keep track of your progress.
Stay or become healthy --> No Sugar, do some exercise!

I tried with my friend from the 2017 year really hard to achieve 30 days. Only I succeeded and only after maybe 100-250 attempts in 2019 end alone. Sadly, my friend became very skeptical about it. Now after 10-30 attempts I try it again - to reach infinity streak. :)
