How to deal with the increased sex drive after nofap?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by seek_red, May 6, 2019.

  1. I've been doing nofap, and while the benefits exist, one side effect is that it made me really horny after a few days. How do you guys deal with it? How can you guys normally talk to girls and proceed with daily activities without becoming triggered? Help. I am now thinking if nofap is worth it, because the increased horniess is really bad sometimes.

Firstly, Nofap is worth it a million times man. You dont know how much PMO will ruin your life if you keep going at it. It makes ones life the shittiest life possible, and makes people feel incredibly sad, angry, ashamed, and depressed. So for that, Nofap is always worth it, no matter how hard it is.
Secondly, to answer your questio and struggle, you might try to do meditation, and relaxation. You also learn with time how to deal wit horniness and urges. A technique that works for me is that if I sense any urge or sexual thought coming my way, I shut it down with all my mental strength. It's like I beat it up mentally, because it's going to make me relapse, so for that I hate it. Thats my mindset, I make my brain fight off urges as soon as they appear, without even letting them develop and overwhelm me.

No matter what, don't fap. Stay strong. Come here for motivation. Peace.

But technically nofap will reduce hprnyness because you will learn how to control it. You first learn exactly when did you get horny, what are the triggers behind it. Whenever you find the triggers, remember to be in control and don't get horny at all.

Eg. For me, the triggers are depression, being lonely at home, seeing triggering content on phone or newspaper. I keep saying "nolust" till the urge is completely gone.

  4. Thank you! It really gets difficult sometimes, and I keep questioning myself if it is worth it. But it seems that, even after the toughest moments, I still chose to keep doing nofap.

  5. I see. I wish that I can get better at controlling after some more nofap.

  6. Direct your attention away from your feelings and to different thoughts or things. I know it can be hard not to think about it, but it is possible.

Invest your time, newfound energy and emotions into hobbies and activities. Anything creative (e.g. writing, painting, drawing, cooking, etc), or exercising and playing sports. That gets you active physically and/or mentally. Keeping you busy and preoccupied. After the relapses I've had and always willing to learn, it's important to keep yourself busy and preoccupied and remain proactive. That's what ultimately helps me on the road to recovery. Hope this helps you buddy.

It can be annoying at times, but personally I also find that feeling horny makes me more active and energetic. Especially when it comes to social interactions. And especially when it comes to girls, it's great and natural to have that sexual energy flowing through you.

It is natural, as long as you don't objectify them or crave to simply have "brutal sexual intercourse with them" (to keep triggers off)...

Of course. Having thoughts like that would destroy any interaction anyways.

Yes. The problem is that most PMO addicts become like that in term (when they are on P).
