How to fix feeling "foggy" and slow?

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Deleted Account, Jul 18, 2022.

  1. My life when I was younger used to feel vivid and every moment was easily memorable and I felt emotions for every little thing that happened. Now it's like my entire life is a dream where I can barely feel or see anything. I feel unaware, unalert. it's like I'm drunk/high 24/7. Is this because of my addiction to masturbation or should I be doing something else to fix this issue apart from quitting masturbation?
I exercise irl and I get sunlight daily, however I will admit basically my entire day is spent on the computer. Around 11 hours a day I am on the computer. So I have a severe addiction to that too.

Usually when I'm lost in the fog, hitting something usually works. Preferably not something alive. That "shock" sort of runs through your body and sharpens your brain up. You should also get in the habit of meditating.

Porn/masturbation can do that. Commit to 30 days at least, and see how you feel after, even if you relapse a few times. I noticed a difference for sure. Far from completely better, but still improved.

Cultivate hobbies and interests away from your computer. Mental fog is a symptom of lack of stimulation (or depression).

This may require intentionally scheduling at least one stimulating activity every day until it becomes a habit. If you're stuck for ideas, you can literally Google "lists of interesting activities".

There are also mindfulness practices, which are techniques you can use to become more aware and accepting of the present moment.

Masterbation and addictions in general are often unhealthy ways people try to get a dopamine hit that they can't get from "real life".
