How to get better

  1. I have been on Nofap for more than a couple years now and after many challenges and relapses, many sprawling withdrawals and difficulties because of fighting such addiction, I have tried everything. From simply fighting and meditating to food, disconnecting from socials, careful sleep, exercise, cutting alcohol, sugar out etc.

    Such addiction takes a precise routine but needs a greater passion to be fought with. And this is why this, to me, comes down to this :

    • Whenever you relapse or urge to PMO, immediately think and do what you love - it might be reading a book, writing, playing an instrument, taking photos, work... Something that takes more than an hour and that's not on your porn device (phone, laptop). Do it. This is how your mind is fixated on something far from lazy and sexual.

    • Be careful and always be ready to be on the move. This is how I faulted many times, especially since Covid sprawled over the world. To be alone at your place is the worst scenario to fight PMO. You WILL relapse. Work, meet family and friends, travel, and best, be with your life partner.

    • Energy. Through food (calories) and drinks (caffeine and alcohol) things can shift wildly. So you should really be careful not to eat more than you body tells you and drink only on occasions. Routine alcohol is the worst.

    • Sleep. Always set up an alarm and get fixated on your sleep schedule. More importantly build your routine around those said passions you have. Go to bed and wake up with something in mind that won't get you lazy. Set the tone for the day : no PMO.
