does anybody have any tips on how to snap out of it when something triggers you? I know for myself when something triggers me no matter how much I don't want to PMO I get this sort of tunnel vision and find it hard to get away from those thoughts.
Any tips would be great. sorry if this seems really simple.

I find that if I am distracted with a project or really hard at work on something or really excited about a certain project, I don't have hardly any urges. Keep yourself moving and productive!

For me to get out of triggers I read a post or watch a video reminding me that its not worth it to pmo and how you will feel after relapsing, and why I quit.
    Stay strong man!

thanks man. I hope to build that into my life a bit more. I need to realize when I'm triggered early enough that I can choose to get away and think abut something better. I heard walks help to. can anybody attest to that?

For me the best way to beat a trigger is to take immediate action. It could often be something as simple as going to nofap.org and reading success stories. I could talk to someone that I trust, or simply do pushups until I drop dead on the floor. It is all up to how bad you want to quit, never forget that you are the captain of your body.

Yeah get out and walk, walk until you don't feel triggered anymore, change your situation. I mean, you are hardly likely to stick your hands down your trousers and rub one out walking down the street are you..... hopefully not.

Also, I agree with what TheBoss said, it helps to have another focus/project in your life that interests you.
But I understand how hard it is generally, when you get that arousing thought in your head, however it gets there, it can be SO powerful. It feels like it's there to stay and the only way to get rid of it is to masturbate.... but here's the thing, it doesn't get rid of it, or maybe it does but only for a short while, then your back to square one..... you have to cut the trigger off at it's source!

I was just thinking that something that really helps me is breathing to 10 and releasing counting to ten doing this ten times. After I do this it is as if the boner almost magically disappears.

this is so true and I think it is something I need to remember, masturbating will only fix the urges for a little while and it brings a lot of pain with it. I might as well skip the pain if I can't avoid the urges. thanks Soul Cage

Ill have to try that method Salvage
