How to take care of a Basil plant?

Fertilize monthly when growing indoors (I use Dr Earth Vega fertilizer, 1 bag has lasted my balcony garden over a year. It’s a dry fertilizer made of compost you can sprinkle on top of the soil and water in.)

Don’t let the roots sit in water - make sure your container is well-drained. Otherwise your plant can become diseased.

Don’t allow it to flower. Once basil grows flowers the plant stops growing as many leaves and its flavor becomes bitter and clove-like.
