All actions are a consequence of an idea. Discussion provokes and tears down ideas, delimiting preferably negative actions and encouraging preferably positive ones. Discussion is the root of all large scale actions. Without protest, there may be no change, but without discussion there is no change.

 

You are right, but as you just said, is the consequence of, not the same thing.
You have an idea, and act on it. Action is bringing what it is in our heads to the material world.

That's why I keep saying, have your idea, act on it, bring your part to the world, don't overthink about the others, it doesn't help you, and doesn't help anybody else.

 

If action is a direct consequence of discussion, it is fair to say discussion is action. To be fair, you don't even have to go that far, discuss is a verb after all. Acting on an idea very well can be discussing it with strangers. Spreading a good idea is one of the best things you can do. Spreading a bad idea offers a chance for it to be expunged from society through debate. Discussing your ideas is one of the best actions you can do in life, in a lot of ways it can be better than jumping to implementation. It allows refinement and culling.

 

Personally, I am *highly* skeptical of any danger MO gives you. P is a multiplier and should probably be avoided, but masturbation is unbelievably common among all sorts of mammals, so it appears biologically beneficial.

 

I would like that someone finds it inspiring and take it as a role model, but I would not go trying to make them swallow my point of view if they don't agree with it and rather do PMO, I might say something like "I've been there, is not good for you" but I would not attack them or try to make them feel guilty for not sharing my point of view, that would be like attacking a former me.
